I am planning on going wheeling at Evans Creek on Saturday Oct 8th.

My current plan is to be there reasonably early (9:00am ready to go at the parking lot) and I would like to do the same trails I did last trip in the opposite direction (GIJohn, Scott, Sniggy, Matt, etc).

Let me know if you are interested.

My folks will be here that weekend, so I might drag Pops around. Gimme a few days to find out.

Let me fill out the request for time off right now. We are slammed but I might be able to get the time off. Let you know soon.

i would also probably be down for that weekend....but dont know for sure about saturday, will you guys be wheeling sunday too, or just sat?

i need to go bad, havent been for a while :bawl: cuz ive been installing some new stuff on my rig :)

IF I get my lift and other stuff swapped out by then, I'd love to. I'll keep you all posted.

Pencil me in!! Pat's been itching to go with me since NWFest!

I'll see if Chris wants to bring his Quad and come along too!

HEY HANS!!!
You up for it?

(I figure if we ALL yell, he will hear us way up there)

I hear you there Mark. Haven't seen hide nor hair of me, have you? I have been doing a bunch of side work. Leave me as tenative. Kinda weather dependant, my wife and I have been waiting for a blue sky day to hike to the top of Mount Winchester. I will let you know by wednesday the 5th.

If I go I will probably have a brand new Rubi with me, friend just bought it a couple months ago and has been harrassing me about going wheeling.

Off topic but what about a "Christmas tree" Snow run mid December. Just got done watching a Warren Miller DVD, and all I dream about is SNOW recently.

Got a housefull of teenage boys that day... if they feel like wheelin' I might join you, but it's visitation and I was fool enough to agree to letting my son have a couple friends over... :)

Hans, What is up with the weather way up there? It has been absolutely beautiful down here!! You can bail at the last minute, I am sure we will only harras you for a year or two about it:)

Bring the Rubi, I am sure we can damage it, get it stuck, and then winch it out of its predicament:)

I am looking forward to some snow runs also. I have a few areas I would like to tackle this year. What about a Chrismas tree run off of I-90 near the summit (lake kechelus sp?) area. Pick a date and set it up!! :)

I expect your message about car pooling to evens!! :)

I'd be up for a tree run later on. I'll see if I can make Evans for this run, as I'm going to be up past the Greenwater area grouse hunting this weekend (which might kill the recreation budget for a few weeks).

If any of you goofballs are bird hunters or are willing to get what you need to learn, I'd sure like a wheeling companion to get into the good hunting spots. ;)

That sounds like a plan!! Well, at least the beginnings of one.

I am dying to go to Evans Creek.

But, I'm not going to make it. Have to work and still want to get Rock guards on first.

Exhausted my leave time on our family trip to MN. Give it a month and I shoudl be able to take a Sunday off.

Don't get me wrong the weather here has been great till today:) I just put alot on hold for NWF and now have been catching up with all my side jobs in the last couple months. But the good news is that I just finished painting EVERY exterior surface on my house last weekend. 25 Gallons later.

As far as the Rubi goes, it has already lost bumper end caps when it still had temp plates. I am more worried about him rolling. He has never had a rig with lockers front and rear, and he is pushing it to the limit. You know one, two, three, four wheels up.

Yea we need a 3" and agressive 31" minimum snow run. I want to do a push as hard as we can to the top. I am not afraid of the shovel. Secertly I am praying for a HARSH winter storm, you know the kind we used to have as kids. Where plows don't work, Big snow blowers only like in 1996-1997.

I will send you a message about caravaning this weekend.

How involved of a trail is Evans Creek? My Jeep is my DD and had 3 inches with 31's. Cant really afford to break anything right now, but would love to go.

You would be fine for most of the easier trails. Do you at least have rocker protection and fr. tow points? If we get some rain and it gets sloppy, the tow points would probably be necessary. As low as you are, the rockers definitely help keep you from banging up the body.

If you're careful, you can make most of the trails unscathed. Sniggs made it without so much as a scratch on the easier trails, and he's set up like you're describing. It was only on the hardest trail that he used his rocker guards and scuffed his flare. You should be fine.

Matt hit it right on the head...I used my rock rails (cause they were there) but we should be able to keep you off the trees. There's also one spot that you get a little off camber (right GI John?) but it's all good with this group.

Here's pics of mine through a few spots... I used the rail between the trees (again, my choice).
