Phil, I'll ask around up here and see if I can get a sitrep on Reiter. Maybe one of the PNWJeep guys has been there recently. If I can get someone to help me (begging obviously hasn't worked with all my so-called friends) swap out my bumper, I'll be there.

If you didn't have to work on a Saturday night or something I'd head up. Would just need fermented liquids and a place to toss my bedroll so I don't have to drive so far the next day. ;)

Got a sitrep on Reiter today from a customer. Sorry to say, he seems to be one of those donks who doesn't give a damn about postings. 'Yeah the Wall trail is closed, but it's just a sign. Ain't much keepin' a big truck outta there.'

Yeah, ok.

The good news is I never work on Saterday nites, I always have fermented liquids and you have a place here for your bedroll (paddock out back LOL). Just let me know.

Bullrack-What's wrong with the bumper?

I got a newer rig and am still trying to get everything everything swapped out from the old one.

Heres what I have on Reiter from PNWJeep:
1. Only the very end of the wall trail is closed, before the rock hill climb...
The section through the woods is still open.

TA has been closed for awhile now...

2. Reiter is open all the time, it's not an official ORV park so there aren't really any closures except for a few areas like the last bit of the wall trail and the TA trail.

For something challenging for the stock-ish rigs and still fun for the built guys, try the upper wall trail in the woods. Just watch out for the sign near the end, you have to stop there and hike up if you want to see the view from the lookout, as that last rocky bit is closed.

For more of a challenge, hit up Sack-up.

I agree with Tim though, Lake Isabel is my favorite trail up there, it just takes a while to get to the hard parts... there are a few obstacles on the lower part, but the fun begins above the log bridge. You might as well turn around though before you go past the scary off-camber part that tilts you towards the valley below... it ends right after that.

3. Yeah TA has been closed for a long time and most people dont even know its existance. Lake Isabel is my favorite trail up there even though it takes a while to get to the fun parts. Sac up is fun too as well as Index wall(even though it is even shorter now)

Sounds like fun! I don't think I've been to Reiter since I lifted!

Sunday, huh? THAT would be fun too! I just have to be home early enough to do a walkabout. We never DID run Jack's pass, you know...

Thanksgiving weekend is supposed to have SNOW in them thar hills!!

If there is snow I will be there(Jacks Pass) for sure. If not I may just work and earn some money for gears. :repair:

Hey guys. I might make a seperate post for this, but since we are on the conversation of future events.

There is a Toy run on 11/12, from Federal Way to Olympia. I didn't make it last year and want to hit it up this year. My import is on the Sellers Block, so I might only be able to take the XJ. Anyone else want to go? Meet up at Fed. Way, follow the caravan down to Izzy's in Oly, and take an afternoon ride? This is primarily an Import Run.

32" MT's in the snow will work great. As long as you air down and are consistent on the gas you will like them. You should still carry chains for them though. Costco has them for very reasonable each winter ($30 or $40 or so).

I am familiar with Isabella, have not done it in a number of years (reasonably easy in my mind). But would be good to do again. I am not familar with Sack-Up? I will try to find out where that starts. I REALLY miss TA trails, they were great!!

I am going to let you guys set this one up, I will try to make it happen but depends on the weekend and what other things I have going on around here. I got most of my new dent out of the door, hoping to get started on other projects as well this weekend.

Once we have snow, I would love to do Jacks Pass (all the way over this time), and I think we should look into some other trails as well, There is lots of stuff out snoqualmie pass way. And there is still plenty of other stuff up Stevens Pass also. We just need snow. I have also done Pilchuck several times.

Except for Hans, I think chains have become a requirement of our snow runs. LOL

Michael. Snoqualmie sounds great. Closer for me.

You'll be fine.

Chains aren't part of the equipment list for snow runs. Air down and use 4WD.

I agree 110% I think chains have a tendency to make you sink. Mike is right LIGHT consistent throttle is the KEY and about 8 psi in front /6 psi in rear. IMHO we should have all the rigs without chains in front of the group and the ones with in the rear. And everyone should try to have a air system with them, right Mike :)

On a side note I do still carry chains anyway. Infact I already have them in my jeep now. Wishful thinking I guess.

Mike glad to see that you have that dent out of your door. If you need any help with that don't be afraid to contact me. I feel a little responsible for that dent. But I guess that is how the trail goes.

Please do not feel responsible for the dent, it was my foot on the gas. I know that I should have tried it slow with the cheater logs in that place first. Oh well, that is how we learn. But the first dent is always the most difficult to accept!!

The only time I have ever used chains in the snow off road is when it was on a hard packed "ICY" trail going down hill, and it was only to help me stop. I just air down and feel very comfortable without chains. I agree with Hans, put the jeeps with chains in the back of the group. But I ALWAYS carry a set or two just in case. They can be very handy if you have a major "stuck" situation.

I'm afraid my pizza-cutters will be ill-suited to the snow, but I'll try anything once.
