O.K. So After Cutting my rear bumper to get it off after having a hard time with the bolts During the Gas Tank skid Install, we had Tacked it on and on our next trip out to Washita offroad Park we lost it.
So I ordered A JCR Rear Cut and Fold Bumper , It required cutting out the part of the body behind the tire and now you can see my leaf springs, shackle and exhaust hanging out.
I think for looks I might have preferred the same bumper with the full size wrap around armor that covers the rear lower quarter panel instead of cutting it out .
Performance wise this one is stronger and a rock has to be mid thigh on me for it to hit after my rear tire drops off of it.
In the End it Grew on me and If I went with the Full bumper I would've likely regretted it on the occasions the corners hit rocks.
While I was buying new nut strips and taking the rear apart I wanted to get everything I planned to do to the rear in the future done that required Taking that area apart.. ( rear Uni-body stiffeners Planned for Later)
So I Did HD Offroads shackle relocation brackets to improve my shackle angle that was vertical After my lift.
My bushings are shot in my leafs so those will be next , I think they took more abuse from being vertical and jamming upward instead of swinging out when the leafs cycle.
The Relocation brackets gave me a minimal amount of lift that I think evened my rig out a bit, Hd Offroad now sells a no lift relocation bracket as well for those that don't want the minor added lift.
The rear Rides way nicer over bumps on the road now and the shackle will Drop out when i flex the rear now Giving me more Flex ( I should get a pic of that prolly ).
Okay Here Is the Bumper , Its Quarter panel armor and all its Brackets Painted
And The Shackle Relocation Brackets Painted
This Is the Area That Gets cut out and Then the remainder Folded Up to cover.
And The Second Part Folding up to Cover
Thanks to Naxja walkthroughs it got Cut and folded So well that It has a nice clean flat 45 degree piece at the corner.
After a Few coats of Spray on rubber Coating The Outside is sealed I used this on the inside , and then used silicone on the inside to fill gaps , and then sprayed the rubber coating over it .
The rubber coating drips down through the cracks nicely before it rubberizes .
It takes a long time to dry but is pretty solid rubber when fully cured.
Here You can see the rear bumper mount and the Rear Frame Tie in that goes from the bumper to the same nut strip as the gas tank skid.
And the shackle relocation brackets from the rear.
Here You can see the Side Frame Tie In for the Quarter Panel Armor also to the Gas tank Skid Nut Strip.
And The Shackle relocation brackets from the side ( Not in the position the shackle ended up in yet though)
And Finally here you can see the Final Shackle Location at a perfect 45 degree angle .
I did have to trim The exhaust because it hit the shackle bolt that is now lower than stock on the top side , this is because I run stock length shackles.
Since my shackle is no longer vertical I ended up with minimal lift.
I had planned to measure my pinion angle to see if it changed from the perfect 2 degrees under I had originally dialed it in to.
But I do not have any vibes to lead me to believe it changed much.
You can also See the 2 Flush Bolts That help Tie the Quarter armor to the rear bumper , And the 2 others that tie the rear quarter armor to the rear Quarter panel.
Other than the receiver being a bit loose I love this whole setup and after towing a bit with it that doesn't bother me anymore.
One Morning I wasn't paying attention and backed my rig right into a concrete wall at the corner pretty hard and forgot about my armor, I was pissed that I likely dented up my Rig and cracked a taillight .
It did Virtually Zero Damage with this solid setup!
