I make hardly any money.

not to be a whinner.....its funny....a mortgage, wife,2 rigs,3 kids....and I don't have much left either.

I horsetraded parts to get my jeep where it is now, and will have to do so in the immediate future.

Better get used to it now or you'll be sorely disapointed later on.

EDIT: brought to you by NAXJA's newest ELDER.

This is a rare occasion when I agree with Ron. I wasn't allowed to have a car in HS, so I have no sympathy for you. Look on the bright side, if you do well in your young adulthood you can more than make up for it. I have money in the bank, a nice house, 5 vehicles and a boat......and a huge horn that I honk whenever I get the chance.

fixed. :D

Funny, I don't recall showing you my horn.

nasa has been tracking your horn with this little item...

naturally it was one of only 2 things that could pick it up...

How many people will say they wish they had stayed in school, compared to those who will say, I wish I had dropped out earlier. Go ahead, drop out now, that Jeep you have will be the best vehicle you will remember ever owning.

I was in High school, graduated early, went to college, didn't graduate. I hate myself.

I did stay long enough to figure some things out. I'm a building / remodeling contractor now and I compete with drop-outs and college grads. The college grads are definitely doing better than the drop-outs. The drop-outs rarely do new construction, but we all hire young drop-outs for cheap labor. Please, let that soak in for a while, process it carefully. You don't want to be the low guy on a jobsite.

just to throw a little chaos into the mix....for everyone saying go to college so you can get a good job, the wealthiest guy i know dropped out of high school n the tenth grade!!!! But seriously im in a similar situation but i look at those around me and realize just how easy i really do have it.

And how many wealthy HS drop outs do you know, from the current generation?

Your not whining or bitching, your a smart kid who's figuring some shat out! Listen to these guys, work hard, you'll feel better about yourself not being a spoiled sh!t in the end. But the fact that nobody wants to pay a living wage in this country and minimum wage will barely feed a person should let you know it ain't easy! However, if it weren't for people "bitching and whining" this country wouldn't progress, we wouldn't even have a minimum wage, hell, we may not even have a U.S.A.!

And that means what? The "minimum wage" is an economic disaster - especially when it keeps going up.

Everytime the minimum wage is increased, it drives up the cost of production and services, ultimately devaluing the dollar slightly. Raising the minimum wage only ultimately benefits the people who collect taxes - the people with the authority to raise the minimum wage.

Go the other way - reduce the minimum wage. While we're about it (and talking about things that will never happen,) let's also go back on the specie standard for money (getting rid of that was another disaster,) and eliminate frivolous lawsuits by instituting a "loser pays triple" plan. And, declare a "tax holiday" for a year or so to effectively re-value the dollar, and return to taxation at a greatly reduced rate, or perhaps a national retail sales tax (which will give you some control over how much you pay.) Eliminate income tax entirely - most people don't make enough money to be able to leverage the system, and it's patently unfair anyhow. If we must keep income taxes, then a 5% flat tax, withdrawn every paycheque, with no tax return to fill out at the end of the year (they get 5% and damn well be happy with it!) Stop paying congresscritters so much, and fire about half of civil service and let them get productive jobs - anyone who collects money without producing anything in return is a drain on the system. Unfortunately, government jobs have largely become sinecures for the incompetent (I know I'd end up firing most of them, if they worked that way for me...)

in reply to fergie's comment personally, i think dropping out is kinda dumb, i was merely saying that it is not necessarily true that you HAVE to go to college to make money. As far as this current generation, i know of 3 in my family alone, who haven't completed hs or college and are doing very well. If you're intelligent, driven and a hard worker you can make some pretty amazing things happen for yourself.

Life's gonna suck when you grow up, when you grow up, when you grow up
Life's gonna suck when you grow up, it sucks pretty bad right now

Hey, if you know the words, sing along

You're gonna have to mow the lawn, do the dishes, make your bed
You're gonna have to go to school until you're seventeen
It's gonna seem about tree times as long as that
You might have to go to war, shoot a gun, kill a nun
You might have to go to war when you get out of school
Hey cheer up kids, it gets a lot worse
You're gonna have to deal with stress, deal with stress, deal with stress
You're gonna be a giant mess when you get back from the war

Santa Claus does not exist, and there is no Easter Bunny
You'll find out when you grow up that Big Bird isn't funny

Life's gonna suck when you grow up, when you grow up, when you grow up
Life's gonna suck when you grow up, it sucks pretty bad right now

You're gonna end up smoking crack, on you're back, face the fact
You're gonna end up hooked on smack and then you're gonna die

And then you're gonna die
