No Sway Bar Club......

nobody got butthurt.... just trying to remain responsible with tech, when i first got on this board, my interpreted 'concensus' from SOME research was sway bars werent nessasary... things like '.... ON A PROPERLY TUNED SUSPENSION' didnt hold in my memory, and i had an accident from not having one... just trying to avoid anyone having the same trouble....

but then again, this is a NON TECH sub forum, so fck it, take it off! just dont say nobody warned you, because after my post, people DID clarify their suspension considerations to running no sway, so my 'butthurt' comment did good, so whatever.

How could a perfectly good drunken plan fail? :dunno: I just dont get it?

This thread is maddening! I really shows the lack of understanding of what an off road sway bar does. I don't get bothered by lack of knowledge, it bothers me when people are so close minded. I have been on this forum for about three years now and have never been so bothered buy a thread. I tried to share information that I have learned on my own, and from people that have been doing this longer than almost everyone on this forum, and was accused of "advertising". (grim)

I can guarantee you that I have more time and money invested in the set up on my Jeepspeed than most of you can imagine! I know that sounds really arrogant but its true. In Shock, Springs and bumps alone I have spent over $4000 trying to get it right. Its not just the money spent on parts, but the time testing in the desert. The Anti rock has made the biggest improvement dollar for dollar than any of the parts I have used.

You can all do what you want I really don't care all that much. I have been jeepin for about 12 years now and one thing I know is that jeep guys are always looking for ways to improve thier suspension. I'm baffled as to why there is such resistance to the use of an off road sway bar.

My rant is over and I feel somewhat better. let the flames begin! :)

we're not resisting using it man... it just aint in the budget for me, and i bet im not alone. ive got better things to spend my money on the last thing i would buy is a swaybar. when i said stop advertising i wasnt trying to crumb on you bro, its just this is a thread about do you have a swaybar or not. thats it. i know plenty of people run the antirock and love the shit out of it. most of us wont get one.

dont let some thread on the interweb get you all worked up. we're all friends here  we're not saying the offroad swaybar doesnt work, shit they've been using them on monster trucks for YEARS. we're saying we would rather buy other things than consider that as an option yet.

chill out man!

I dont know but I thought this thread was to find out who was running with out them, and thats all !!! How it got to be this crazy ill never know. It was interesting to see who did and who didnt and what they had "suspension wise" nothing more nothing less.

Man its sad that we let a simple thread, with a simple question turn into a huge fiasco

Makes me never want to post a thread becuase someone will say im tring ot influence the newbies or it what ever. Or take what I posted and turn it into a my group is better than yours. Come on guys the main reason i joined this forum was we all are down for each other and I sure dont want that to change. Oh yeah and beacuse i saved a grip finding out how to fix things myself lol

I hear what you are saying, kind of. How may people hear have bought Ranchos then upgraded to a Fox or a Bilstein. It seems to me that spending another 350.00 on a part that can greatly improve on the handling of your jeep wouldn't be that out of the question.

What good is a thread like this if its all just yes and no answers. I thought it was a discussion of if you do or not and why.

I'm not really a worked up, I just dont get it.

Sorry Gimm :)
