Sorry for the late reply on this one. Been out in Minnesota (sp?) being a lazy ars with the family at her Dad's.

Mark,
Bring the family. This group is family orientated, even though not everyone comes along. My 6 year old and my wife wear more upset about missing the Naches run than I was in July.

Later

Jason

Jason,

Appreciate the invite for the family, But with 6 kids my wife would have to chase in the Suburban. A couple of the kids will come along though. But I think I will have to postpone my first trail run until I get my rig a little capable to keep up with the rest of you. The Evans Creek pics were awesome and a little frightening to my almost stock XJ. Will be watching the threads though and be keeping in touch.

Mark just come up on the 17-18th and you can either ride along with someone ore we can get you through alot of stuff very easy. Karl (Black89xj IIRC) was at the NW fest in his stock rig and embarrased a couple nicely built rigs. What im planning on so far is to run Naches pass, Ravens roost and spend some time at the funny rocks too. I know for a fact we can get you through ravens roost and to the funny rocks without a problem. Ive done both when my XJ was stock (many many moons ago) and taken other stock XJ's through on more than occasion.

I agree, most trails here are easily passable this time of year in stock rig, and most have bypasses. when it gets wet obiously things change. And for the most part Naches trails are wide enough to avoid any body damage.

There may be a chance for me on the 17-18. Just have to see the finances on that weekend. If we are still going, I'll have to be a last minute decision.

Well I hope you can make it. And im glad you decided to try.

So now that we have a few people that are going to try and make it, what time do we want to meet where? I am camping for the weekend so i will need to set up camp before i go sat morning. Maybe camp at Kaner then stage from there? any ideas?

Then again i always thought id would be fun to run a trail for a while then set up camp at night, then the next day break camp and wheel some more.

I know everyones got an opinion so lets hear it.

Just read all of the threads. Got room for a new guy? I would be open to camping and wheeling.

Sure theres always room for fresh meat.... oops i mean new guys. This run of the 17th and the 18th should be very easy for even stock vehicles, so the more the merrier.

How about meeting at Whistlin' Jacks at 9am on the 17th??

Where is Whistling jacks? Told you I was a newbie.

It's on 410 on this side of the mountains. In the HUGE (not really) town of Cliffdale. It's so big in fact that if you blink you'll miss it. Im not sure how far it is from the top of the pass. I'll find out for you though. It's one of the only places to get gas within about 30 miles from where we're at so if your XJ is thristy bring extra gas, I would imagine that gas will be over $3.25 by then (at whistlin jack's)

Okay...... I talked with Dan last night, he replaced his front broken axle and a couple other items. He said as things sit right now, he's game for the Sept 17th and possibly the 18th, camping at Kaner Flats as we did during NWFest. He is running a CJ5.

We are working hard on Jerry's 82 Toyota. I just picked up lockers and gears for it this morning, along with stuff to modify the steering for over the top. Some other suspension stuff we are working on now but it should be ready for the run on the 17/18 also.

Family members in Idaho have relented and I can miss the county fair and do the jeeping thing. So I'll be there with either the XJ or the CJ5, depending mainly on what the weather is like and the gas supply/pricing. The CJ5 loves gas............ sorta like my daughter on chocolate..... :)

Glad to here to guys can make it. Are you gonna go up fri? I can't make it till sat morning, but We need someone to go up early and take the group site that we had for NWF. Then when the rest of us roll in we can set up camp and hit the trails.
