Alternate Plan for the Rubicon Portion of Sierra Fest

StarboardM, StarboardD and I (2 vehicles) are planning for an alternate drive on the Rubicon. On Wednesday we are going to drive back to Buck Island Lake area and camp out. On Thursday we will drive back to Loon Lake and then head over to Hermit Valley.

Why?

• It’s been a long, long time since we have run the trail ‘backwards’.
• There is nothing special or adventurous going up Cadillac Hill and the trail from the top of the hill out to the Tahoma staging area SUCKS.
• This gives us another day of wheeling instead of sitting around and doing nothing on Thursday.
• Anyone who trailers their rig to the trail head will be able to enter and exit the trail from the same spot.
• And it’s just different from what we do every year.

We welcome anyone who would like to join us for this variation of the trip. We will have a couple of days on the trail to think about it and discuss it and decide if you want to join us so no decision needs to be made now.
