Newbie/Stocker Run

DR!! You could meet Phil (Esckjay) and I near Southcenter and the 3 of us could convoy there? I'm in Burien about 25 minutes south of Shoreline (south of downtown).

Hey Eli, would it be easier to hook up at the Federal Way Costco? Fuel up and go?

Three and a half hours to get up there. I'm still in. Any chance I could crash at someones house that night, and leave the following morning?

What's up Sniggs... definitely down for that. While 80 miles one way (Shoreline-Bremerton) seems like a crapload of drivin', it's all good.

PM me w/ details & directions and it should be no problem for me (and thanks for the invite).

DR

Edit: Well damn, if PDXXJNOOB shows up I've got nothin' on him...

so the date is march 5th? I'm working that day but i might be able to get it off. saturday is better. i know tahuya pretty well and can show folks around. i live in poulsbo which is between the bainbridge island/seattle ferry and the kingston/edmonds ferry. if the weather is decent there is the possibility of a BBQ at my place for those heading back across the water.

oh and if anyone wants to go wheelin in tahuya this weekend we're heading down there saturday morning and should be there all weekend.

The amount of time to take the Ferry and/or Drive around is about the same. Someone,I'm sure, can show you the way back to Kingston so you could catch the Ferry going home. Seriously, the drive isn't all that bad. By the way, WELCOME to Washington!! We're going to have to work on that login name though, right? ;)

No kidding! Come up Saturday night and you two are welcome to stay at my place. We've gotta work Monday morning and all that...

I've tried to talk him into it. :( He's got such a great rig, he should use it! Saturday night, good thinking...

Puddles? No... I have a snorkel :)

Scott, Let's do it!

Never! ;) I've got ID plates now, so my rig should be safe in WA. However, NorCal > *.* :D

My input:

March 5th might not be enough warning for me to get a day off. My half assed employer took my Sundays away.

I am out in Yelm, if you bring a Sleeping bag, we should have enought floor space. That is if I am able to go.

Joe showed me a little around Tahuya, and we had a fairly late start. Must have been clost to 11 or so. How about we meet up a 9:00. But Where?

Jason

Pdxxjnoob talked me into it... I reckon I'm coming as well. Me and him will be mini-convoying (is that even a word?) it up there. Any other Portland/surrounding area folks coming? We need to represent! :D

Ill most likely be there representing oregon.

Although watch out- my rig isnt stock.

ive got black steelies and KC slimlites on the front.

(oooooo, ahhhhhhhhh)

and a chance of mt's before this run.........

:)

This is coming together great! Here's what I've got so far....

WHAT: Wheeling 101. A fun filled day of mild to moderate wheeling, with plenty of back-up in case of technical Charlie Foxtrots or getting stuck.

WHO: XJ'ers without a lot of 4x4 experience, or vehicles without a lot of mods. And anyone else who wants to have a good time and meet some cool folks.

WHEN: Sunday, March 5th, 2006. As it stands now, the plan is to meet somewhere out in Belfair BETWEEN 0700-0800 for breakfast, and to hit the trails after that.

WHERE: Tahuya State Forest ORV park (http://www.dnr.wa.gov/htdocs/lm/recreation/tahuya/index.html) Just outside of Belfair Washington.

WHY: 'Cause it'll be fun.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So...who all's gonna come? Based on the thread so far, I'm seeing:

Me, IXNAYXJ

pdxjnoob (who needs a place to stay...I need a volunteer!)

emtpiston

norcal420 (has shown interest...hopefully it remains strong)

XJjeepLess

xjoe (as sage guide and council)

ECKSJAY (illustrious President)

Sniggs (illustrious treasurer)

Dvipercop ('reckons' he'll be coming...whatever THAT means!)

jpars (another intrepid Oregonite, or Oregonian or whatever they're called)

Jmotorsport...undecided

red91inwa...strangely mute on the subject....?

Nobody from way up North? 2extreme? Xjourney? Anybody?

I think that covers it. Let's keep interest strong and make a great outing!
