Well tonight i found that my rig has a bit of the cancer, drivers floor pan is rusted through in a few spots. the rest of it looks good though. The power steering pump needs to be removed for the third time tomorrow as it is still leaking. Did do a successful oil change though, in spite of having to use a visegrip chain whip to remove the oil filter. Baby steps... the goal is to have it sitting on a ford 8.8 with new leaves and shocks by the end of this weekend. :eeks1:

Got to fix the power steering leaking issues this morning.

I also wire brushed all the floor and painted everything that doesn't need to be repaired.

Cut the rear overhang a little. Check out the smoked main leaf.

And the cancer... we will try to plate the holes in the floor this weekend and fix it up.

Those holes in the floor aren't rust... Those are custom drain holes for the leaky fluid. I'll be following this build it's looking like a fun one already!

Got an 8.8, cleaned it up, welded brackets, added paint and brake lines:

Put some Metric Ton leaves in and took off one of the overload leaves:

Installed everything:

Prepped the front shocks for installation tomorrow:

Tonight we pick up the D30 and a 231 TC and we'll be back at it tomorrow.

The 5150's and the axle look nice. What did the 8.8 come out of? I'm not familiar with the 8.8 . Good job on the progress.

The 8.8 is out of a Ford explorer. A cheep way to upgrade to disk breaks and its 31 splined. Cracker hammered one of these on 35s for a while with out a problem. pulled it yesterday morning (half off day at the wrecking yard) cut off all the mounts and welded up new ones. should be drivable tomorrow minus a track bar.
