You'll only have to watch out if you plan on following me. I suggest hiking up your skirt if you wheel at all like this post-whore. He'll "X2" on everybody's posts.

Welcome to the Midwest Chapter forums and to NAXJA. Stay around and check things out. If you like what you see, there is plenty more to see and have access to if you become a paid member. We also have a few unofficial events coming up in the next few months, so if you get a chance to partake you will get a chance to put some names and faces together. Hope to see ya around.

Good looking rig too!

Nobody ever accused me of wheeling like a pansy. Hint, hint. Sorry for highjacking the thread.

I said it in off topic.....I guess I'll post it here too.....

You guys ever go to Jeepskool?

I'm not a fan of Jeep Skool. I don’t think the trails are worth what you’re paying for. Most of the trails are not to challenging; I could probably get thru most with a stock XJ (I’m not talking the deep mud crap). The harder trails are not really that hard vertically… they are more or less just horizontally tight that guarantee some body damage.

I don’t like the fact that you need to take that safety class every year. It takes up half the day and you have to pay for it and the trails. I just think it could be Run better. I’m not trying to down talk Jeep Skool, and I understand that there are not too many places in Ohio. What they are doing there is great for the off-road community, and I appreciate that fact. I’m just not a fan of it “yet”.
:rattle:

Now...Wellsville is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
:lickout:

I think it has a much better variety of trails for Stock jeeps to Buggys on 40s. There are x50 amount of trails too compared to Jeep Skool. I have been going there for years and still find new trails most every time I go. It’s just the Hillbilly’s you need to watch out for.

Whens the last time you've been there? They add new trails all the time.Last year they added more than a mile and a half of rock crawls alone .I've been going since november and hit new trails every time I go.$30 may sound steep to you but try going to an amusement park for the whole weekend for that. Not gonna happen!I also take my wife and kid so I enjoy the fact that nobody is gonna get drunk and run them over. You can't drink and drive there, they won't let you and I love that fact.Wheeling can be dangerous enough.I also like the fact that if it breaks down there I can leave it to get parts and not have someone torch or strip my rig while I'm gone. I'm not trying to be a dick I just love my rig and don't want anything to happen to it that I didn't do.It's the first thing I have built completely by myself and I have too much pride in that to let some drunk hillbilly burn it.I drink too so I'm not some MADD person or something.Just saying.

Well I would hope that a privately run area would restrict drinking. Unfortunately Wellsville isn’t run by anyone. If all the owners came together to run the place, they would make a killing. Most of the drinking you hear about is from people going on holiday weekends, like 4th of July. Every time I have gone to Wellsville, I have never come across any drunk locals. It probably b/c we always go on an off day, like a Sunday morning that is not a holiday weekend. I have heard of old stories of people striping vehicles like burning them…….but I have never heard of from anyone that this has happened too. They probably were abandon or burned buy the dumb ass owner. Any evidence of such events have been sitting there for years. I have not seen anything newer than 80s vehicles nor have I seen any Wrangler remains (which are the most common Rig there).

I actually know heard from some people that had left their Rigs there over weekends to wait for parts. Besides, I have never gone there on my own. Wheeling alone is just dumb in general. Every time I go is with a group. The families and guys I go with would never let anyone sit there broken down and leave them. Everyone pitches in parts tools and their own time to get you fixed and back home. Honest to God if the vary unlikely situation came up, they would probably spend the night there with me if I ever had to wait on parts.

Like I said, I wasnt trying to bash Jeep Skool. I might one day go there and see what trails are there. But a friend of mine used to run and teach the safty classes there for free of charge. From they way they treated the him and told him what to do, Its probably going to be sometime before I go

Then again.......Its just another storie I heard.

Stories get elaborated and spread like brush fire……..

I have definitely have had much worse experiences at the Badlands Off Road park. I have had seen some people on Dirt bikes and ATVs almost get killed on several occasions. I have had a Dirt Biker go over me and skim the top of my windshield, another foot over or a few MPH less he would have killed my GF in my passenger seat.
