New tires= upset wife. Why?

and sometimes, what I want to do coincides with what she wants to do and vice versa.

but what DOESN'T happen is a bucnh of bullshit bickering and fights for supreme power or "whos right"

its 50-50 no 70-30 or 80-20.

I don't answer to her, and she doesn't answer to me.

its symphonic.

face it, control freak, bitch-ass wives suck, and some of you have them and are in denial.

"honey is it okay if I go wheeling with my friends this weekend......pleeeeaaaseeeeeee?"

Word up my Brutha!

Me: "Baby, can I buy a Harley?"

Her: "Why did you even ask?"

My point is: 50/50 works. Saying it doesn't work is a cop out.

Great, it worked there. Try this one.
You: "I think I should quit my job and take this one because..."
Her: "I don't think you should because..."

Each of you has valid points, are conviced they're right, and this is an important decision.
How does your 50/50 work now.

This is how mine works, the leader, or 51 percenter, says, "I understand your concerns but I feel this is what we have to do."
The 49 percenter has to now accept and trust his decision.

Its all my money. I go to work everyday and make the money. I make up the budget but I put her needs above the Cherokee's, I put our needs above my wants. Now if we can afford something I've always wanted for the Cherokee, I say hey, we have enough to pay $400 for these wheels and tries (used with less than 100 miles on them, awesome deal) I need 2 new wheels and 3 tires anyways, I'm gonna buy these ones and be happy. She says go ahead. She doesn't dictate what I buy or don't buy, she's my voice of reason. If I say hey let's buy this $40 Futurama DVD box set when we're already strapped worrying about rent, she says are you sure we can afford thjis cuz we still need to pay electric, cell phones, and rent and you were worried about making those...and I say, fine I won't get it. But keeping her involved in all things keeps me from wasting it as I am very good at. (I blew $2000 after coming back from deploymenton a $300 stereo and lots of food...)

That's exactly what I'm saying. Her input counts but you have to be the final word.

Personally think it's sort of funny this thread ran to this long. No matter how much is discussed, screamed bout, ranted bout, etc., each will live their own lives as they each see fit. Personally I'm on my second marriage due to an ex with Beezil's attitude BUT minus the small part he adds at the end about knowing the limit and not running the both of y'all short. She spent her money AND my money. Having just come back from buying tires, bearings and brakes for my bike and still a newlywed, the thread is sorta relevant too!

And then to have one person question someone else's advice merely because he or she isn't a member (name in red vs black) as if the mythical membership status confers an intelligent attitude. Sorta rings of the Wizard from Oz. Some of the folks in black may have very valid ideas and suggestions on things but aren't able financially to become members.

Everyone has their own way of working things out with their spouse, all kidding aside, when it came time for the mods I wanted to do to my little beater, I did the shopping because I knew what I wanted to do/get, but there was a good amount of discussion before we spent any money, it has worked both ways for us, for her stuff or mine, and what would be considered "our" stuff, so far so good. Our decisions arent always 50/50, but we make sure we work out our money so the bills get paid first, no matter what. The rest ... well, right now we're fortunate enough that there is always some $ around, but that can change so fast (for any of us) that we try to be careful about it, a small fortunes worth of Jeep in the driveway, towed by a shiny new pickup truck wont put more food in the freezer, or pay the mortgage...even if they are fun to play with.just my .o3

This could very well become the second longest thread here...behind of course the 3.55s w/35s...

What is it now, $35?
Christ man, if you can't swing $35, then get the hell off the internet and mow a lawn or something.
Unreal.
:smoker:

Maybe I'd rather spend my $35 on other things. Or I just don't feel like joining. Or maybe I'm being paid by the US Government, and therefore am poor. Once our child is born, my wife and I will be eligible for food stamps. Oh, and I use libraries to check my e-mail, and I'm at work right now... I don't internet at home, or cable. Besides what makes you as a member better than me? Nothing, what non-members say is just as good as the members. And in the future I'd appreciate it if you would take the Lord's name in vain. Thanks

How do you decide who the "leader" is?
That's crap.

Asking permission is ridiculous. Just live with in your means and all is good.

My hubby is going to be rich, he will work and bring home the bacon, I will stay at home and have lots of babies and he will give me money when I want it and he will STFU when I come home with a new $1000 purse that I will only use 3 or 4 times.
The seperate account thing definately will not work for me.

F-L-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N
H-I-N-K-L-E-Y

I pay to be here, and I will take whoevers name I like in vain.
I would appreciate it if you would develop a case of cranial/rectal inversion and suffer an acute lack of air.
I see idiots, on a daily basis, driving high dollar SUVs on their way to their office in their Ermenegildo Zegna suits.
Its not tough, just look around.
If you are smart enough to use the internet, then you should be smart enough not to reproduce before you are off of public assistance. :looser:

I think that is what some of the guys here are compaining about. The wife that sits at home and wants to spend all the extra money on things she wants and not let him buy what he wants.

It may sound good from where you are at, but staying home raising babys, and having lots of money is not what it is cracked up to be. It gets old fast. :lecture:

What does any of the people in expensive SUVs have to do at all with anything said anywhere?

You're showing a lot of that maturity and thinking power that I know went into your decision to get married (you are married right?) when you don't even understand the concept of what it means when you say I do and agree to live your life with and for another person.

As far as the public assistance goes, I don't neccessarily need it, but if I can get it and it helps pay for food so I can save more money to spend on the XJ, then why the hell not? They only count my base pay, which is 19,000, towards my income the determine eligibility. However, the Marine Corps gives me an extra 1100 a month to cover rent and utilities here in Oceanside. (trust me, that's easily spent out here). So, I could afford to have this child without food stamps, but I can have more gas money and money for other things if I do work with the system to get them. I'm half black, think I'd turn down a job because they hired me due to affirmative action? Heck no! I don't agree with the program, but if they want to use it, I'll take the benefits.

You can always tell the idiots cuz they immediately start pulling out crap that makes no sense and attacking people who differ or make a request to cut down on profanity (most wouldn't consider taking the Lord's name in vain profanity, but its offensive to Christians). But you know what, I'll take it back because as he so wisely said, he pays to be here and who am I to question his right. Besides I am in the service of defending his right to free speech. So bgcountry, I apologize, I shouldn't have added that last part in. I do however stand by everything else.
