New Ridigco rear bumper Pics

I agree with what everyone has said.. Its a real nice looking bumper except for the end caps. I am running his front bumper and it is great. The only problem is I wheel a Mj and he has designed one yet fot that.

The C-Rok used to be the bumper I was gonna get, but the tire carrier turned me off from it. I have yet to see the rigidco tire carrier, I just hope it looks better than the C-Rok one. Plus it is supposed to have high-lift and accesory mounts.

C-rok is all about approach and departure. I like the way the rear tire carrier on the C-rok puts the tire up out of the way. That being said I doubt I'll every spend the $$$ to get one.

If the tire carrier is as fubar as the end caps...... well good luck and enjoy!

I'm going to weld up a carrier for the C-Rok that I have - once I get to it. I'll share photos.

Edit: I posted without realizing that C-Rok had images of the tire carrier posted to their web site now...

Hmmm...I like it but it might be a bit much for a daily driver grocery getter like my Jeep.

It's interesting to hear all the comments. We get valuable information from all the comments on NAXJA. It confirms our belief that one product, no matter the design, can't please everyone.
The reason that we went with the endcap design is mainly versatility. While testing our designs we have seen many aftermarket bumpers fail under similar conditions, so our design was to first prevent those failures in our products. Failures will eventual occur, but when they do, we did not want our customers to have to purchase a whole new bumper if necessary. The endcap design allows for easy and cheap replacement of those commonly damaged parts. Many XJ owners have also expressed interest in running a tire carrier offroad, but did not want to rear window hindered onroad. This is another plus of the endcap desisgn. It also allows an easy conversion from a tire carrier end to a high clearance (stock-looking) end. Although the endcaps are not an ideal solution, it keeps costs low and is a minor compromise for unsurpassed strength and versatility.
Just like our front bumpers, we feel that the most important aspect of a bumper is the mounting. There is no reason to buy a $500 bumper if its mounting system fails when needed most. We incorporated this same philosophy in our rear bumpers as well. The rear bumper needs to fullfill many functions. Because of this, we decided to exceed DOT standards in our mounting system.

I encourage more comments, it gives us important information.

I think the endcaps look great on the pre-97 bumper...

They don't hang down any lower than the 1/4 panel does and match the lines better than any other aftermarket bumper. And the interchangeability b/w regular, tire carrier, and trimmed 1/4 endcaps is nice!

The pre 97 bumper looks great. same width as the rear, which can prevent the end from hanging on something. To me it looked like the ends stuck out further on the 97 and newer.

How about reusing the end cap?, like the Tomken design. I love the stock look of this bumper with the added strength and receiver. Plus, when the plastic end cap break, you can replace it cheaply or fix it with some epoxy and paint :)

I much prefer the smoother appearance that the C-Rok has, plus it offers some protection to the rear quarter panel in the lower part. I wish that I'd had that protection earlier before I put a minor crease in one side.

The smooth appearance of the C-Rok also appears to provide less to get hung up on. As for the plastic end caps I had torn all 4 of them off completely or had them hanging by one screw by the time that I'd been off-road a couple of times. In my opinion, just another thing to throw in the garbage.

After seeing that angle on the pre-97 bumper? I like. Primary reason I like the Detour Slimline...

Looks and the quarter panel coverage.

Reason I don't like C-Rok:

The logo on the quarter panel.

Terry. Could you add some quarter panel coverage to run up to my Rear fender flair? If so, and the wifey likes it, I would buy.

Good point, I don't care for the logo either. If you could make it with some quarter panel coverage I'd buy it. I need a new rear bumper. But I do like the spare tire carrier that C-Rok makes. I've had the spare tire on the back since I bought my 1994 XJ and I don't notice it taking up the view in the rear, but I guess that I'm just used to it. I would like to get it up a bit higher like C-Rok is doing because I do hit it alot on rocks.

I never met gregg aka crok but try asking him to make one with out the name laser cut in it. I don't think he has a pile of them he has to sell, they are made to order i think, its worth a phonecall if you like his stuff otherwise.

These pictures are the first ones of the finished product...there's definitely more to come. Terry said they're working on an endcap that would protect the quarter panel.

Looks Great! I Really like the pre 97 bumper alot... the newer one isn't bad either. I like how they follow the stock lines.....

Rigidco is at the top of my list for both front and rear bumpers...

The front for the Awesome mounting system.... the rear just for looks/function IMO..

Does Ridigco not update their site much? I'd like to see what they have in a rear bumper with carrier flavor..

It's still in development - Terry is working at it, and has many of the design elements worked out at this point.

And no, the website hasn't been updated for some time now - he's been e-mailing these pics to current customers as they become available.

Now thats what I've been looking for, minus the end caps. I'm new to this whole Jeep thing, could someone send me their web site address? I assume they also make front bumpers.?
