Need info on lift for a YJ?

So a buddy of mine just got a 91 YJ and want's to get a liftto fit 33's. He's new to the Jeep world so I'm trying to help him as much as I can But I don't know to much about the YJ's.

So far I've noticed that he will need about 4 inches of lift to fit 33's but will he need to do a SYE and driveshaft? What brands sholud he try to stick to and which ones should he avoid. Is there anything else he should know about when he orders his kit.

I had a 4" on my last TJ and didn't have a SYE, only the Tcase drop. No vibes. My current TJ has 6" and I do have the SYE and still needed a t-case drop. On my buddies YJ has has 4" lift and SYE and no vibes. I like the BDS springs since they have a lifetime warranty. I would get the 2.5" springs and 2" shakles. That is unless he ever plans to go higher to run 35's. Then I would get 4" springs now and then he could add shakles later. just my 2 cents
