***Need Help in Ukiah***

I bent the heck out of my tie rod at cow mountain today and limped into Ukiah but most of the places there were closed. I called Kragen, and Autozone with no luck so that only leaves Napa Auto But I doubt they will have a tie rod.

I understand they have a PnP but was wondering if anyone in town or near town had a spare, otherwise I fear it my be a bit of a gamble.

Agh, I just passed through there today.

If you can stay over night, try to pick up a zj v8 rod in the morning.

yeah it's just that all of the parts stores that I have tried didn't have anything that would work. Funny thing is that I have a ZJ rod in my garage in Sacramento. I left it thinking I would only drive through Cow Mountain for fun from Lakeport and left all the spare parts. Never again....

The rocks where calling my name and they won this round. :twak:

Is there a Pnp in Ukiah. I have heard there is but it is not on there site, although that does not mean there is not one. Anyone know?

Well I found a new V8 GC tie rod for $190 and passed quickly on that one. I got a hold of one at a salvage yard for $50 and they even pulled it for me. Another place wanted $65 for me to pull or $75 pulled. I guess we are just spoiled with the $15 PnP tie rods. Did the swap real quick in the parking lot, did an alignment and I was on my way.

Now at least I have a spare ZJ rod at home and it will find a new home in the back of the XJ untill I need it.

Why not straighten the bent one and drive home?
I've done that many times in the past.

sorry to hear that.
for whatever reason my spare driveshaft (fits front and rear) and spare zj tie rod never leave my jeep....and pretty soon so will my spare 44 shafts , and my spare front shafts with bearings attached...

I would have tried but for some reason I left my tools at home too.
