my tcase blew up on me yesterday, I need a 242 or 231, 23 spline tcase ASAP - this is my primary vehicle right now :bawl:

cheaper the better, thanks

Dam i am sorry to hear about this. What type did you originally have, 231 or 242?

case came off my 94 AX15 but it should be the same as an aw4 as far as mounting goes, the XJ it came out of had an aw4 in it. It is a 242, it sounds like the chain is skipping a tooth as I drive hopefully it's just a stretched chain. I was PM'd by someone with an offer I can't refuse on a replacement (waiting for the wife to ok me spending the money :D) I'm probably going to hang onto this one and rebuild it, sorry 45.

thanks

Mike, I got two up here. You can have one. They are both 231 23 spl. Come up take a look and take the best one you choose.

You got the number brother.

I really appreciate it Bo, are you still out in 29 though? it would cost me more in gas than what I am buying the one offered to me for.

Thats cool, thanks Grimm.

I am still up here man. If it falls through the offer still stands.

Not sure if it would help, but... I have a stock 231 chain you can have FO FREE! I upgraded to the 1 1/4" chain and sprockets.as far as I know the chain was still good.

got it handled, thanks ChipClip

Starion did you verify that 85 was a 231? I believe the 84-86 got the 207.

Next time you want to hit the yards hit me up I'm always lookin for goodies.

I know you can tell by the 4x selector. 231= 2hi,4hi,n,4lo
Our you could type in your vin # online at one of the vin decoders to find out, as long as nothing has been changed.
