Well folks, mark this down in the record book as thee most sucsessful event. EVER.
:confused1
This run is usually our big run. Its the longest running and has always proved to be a blast. This year was differnt. Its
s first non XJ, XJ run! Thats right, not 1 single cherokee was able to make it!!!! Only 3 rigs ended up making it up the hill this year. Myself in my Unlimited, Dan (a veteran of this annual run) from Bakersfield with his YJ, and Todd (Corey aka Xtrm Jeeprs' roomie!) with his CJ7.
I wheeled in friday afternoon to meet Todd and Corey at Red Lake. They went into Coyote earlier that day and did a little fishing. That evening, Dan showed up with news that the XJ guys broke down and he was not going back home. Saturday we ran out of Red and into Mirror Lake for a good time. I had to take off home early, so Dan followed me out and Todd and Corey went back into Red to do some more relaxing in the great weather. I ran over to Bald Mtn to meet up with some friends that were hosting a charity event. I managed to run most of Bald Mtn saturday. After that I headed over to Brewer lake because its a short trail and there is a knarly little rock garden right at the lake. This was 4 trails in 1 day... cant get that anywhere else.
Red Lake
Dan with the basic YJ
Me coming into Mirror
Todd in the same spot
We ended up having a great time. The weather was perfect and we saw maybe 5 other rigs in the area. That makes for the best kind of wheeling ever.
