Nates 4x4

His product is great, but his communication, and timeline are UNacceptable. I waited months and got the wrong product. I could not get him to return calls or e-mails, and after 90 days, paypal would not refund my money even though it was a custom order and I never got it. It took almost 5 months to get. I rate him UNACCEPTABLE!

WOW, I should have read this :) I too have his bumper but did not order the install hardware kit with it. After getting OEM off I decided to order the kit. Called and paid with CC.

Well as you might expect... been 3 weeks and still no kit... no replies to emails either. Guess if I want to wheel this weekend than I buy / use what is availble here.

Anybody have a list ;) :)

I've had nothing but good experience with Nate. His bumpers front (07) and rear (05). I needed my front in a hurry, called and ordered it from him & told him I was coming in 2 weeks with cash. Showed up at his door with cash and a frosty 6 pack and we finished my bumper (well, to be fair, I pointed out what I liked and Nate did the work while I drank a beer.)

Brought it home to a local shop where they cleaned it up, primed with POR-15 and Line-X'ed it.

I'm happy.

so what does that say nate is just incompetent and cant figure out how to mail things. either that or he realized to wouldn't be able to put you through this crap cause you were within swinging distance. either way he runs a terrible business and should be shut down.

Hey it took about 3 months to get my bumper and it finally showed up.
The customer service sucks but iam happy with the bumper so iam not to worried about it.

I believe I was one of the earlier Nates customers back in the day, back when he was doing the powdercoating and took the phone calls himself...I guess that was back in, what 2004 or so. It took him 7 months to get to me, and it didn't do exactly what it was supposed to, but the final product, minus the powdercoating was pretty good. The light tabs I ordered were messed up, and the powdercoating all came off. Its for sale in the for sale section if anyone is interested...

I ordered a front bumper from him last July. After a month, I called. Got him the frist try. He was at dinner with his family and would check the shop and let me know. That was the last i ever heard from him. After several unsuccessful calls, I emailed him to cancel it. I then found out he had charged me for it in July. I ordered an ARB bumper and emailed him again to make sure he didn't send it. I filed a claim with my CC company and they credited my account and took it back from him. Two days after the ARB arrived in less than a week, Nates bumper arrived. I tried to contact him to see if I could do him a favor and send it on to some other customer. He never responded. I shipped it back to him on my dime. I should have sent it collect, but didn't. His bumper was heavier than the ARB, but not nearly as nice. They misquoted me and I got it for about $250 more than Nates. The next day, they were $150 more.

I see alot of this info on Nates 4x4 dated in "09"...anybody have any good isight on his slimline front bumper recently? Looking at the JCROffroad 3 stage rear tire carrier but like the recessed front slimline Nate offers...any info?

Do not get it. I have one. It sticks out way to far, the fit is horrible, didnt come as ordered, the stinger bar is unlevel and he put the seam of the metal facing outward. It was also a pain to ever get ahold of him after he had my money. It also took forever to receive.

Just my experience.

That's some extensive fail.

I would recommend a Rigidco bumper.

I agree that my slimline winch sticks out far and made it hard(er) on a lot of approaches. I actually moved it to my XJ that I use mainly for off the beaten path camping. On my off road XJ I went with the JCR stage 2.

I will say I never had an issue with Nate's correspondence and have since had him make me a nicely built roof rack. I have NO ISSUE with his workmanship.

I believe I already said what was wrong with mine. But there was a lot of splater, the reviever is out of level and slightly out of center. He never answers his email or phone. And it took something like 3 months to get my rear bumper. This guy is to bumpers as titan is to strokers.

Lets see, I ordered my bumper on 4/25/11 and received it 5/9/11. Quality product and he answered both my emails within 24 hours of them being sent. The bumper is very very nice imo, welds are great and no splatter left on them. Guess I am one of the lucky few, I dont know but my exp with him is great=D

I also got it with 99 cents shipping! good deal IMO

I emailed about a custom bumper as pictured below week and a half ago have heard nothing back... and it seems that every one says one side or the other either great or horrible but they seem to be better than Logan's metal.

Like I said before, I've never had anything but excellent service and products. You can always find a reason to bitch if you want one. Nate runs a small fabrication shop, he isn't Quadra Tech. I'd rather give my money to a little guy who's building something than a corporation.

the price was good. but its scarey to give up all that money and never hear from the person again. I forget how long it took now, but it was way too long without a proper explanation. and in the end it didnt fit as well as it should, and wasent made very well. my receiver hitch is crooked. and it came with the hooks for the chains when you tow a trailer and I asked he not include them.

If i was going to do it again I would have spent alittle more and got a better bumper from someone else.
