Nates 4x4

JCR is $705 shipped for their tire carrier bumper, and they answer the phone. Plus they are a NAXJA sponsor which is a benefit to us members.
And yes, I realize I'm replying to your post from 3 months ago! :D

I like the JCR stuff, It is solid well built stuff also.
I just do not like that he charges extra for Front & rear tie in brackets That you have to BOLT ON (they are welded on & included in the price on the Nates Bumpers).

You could Purchase a Nates Front & rear bumper with the D-Rings, Front & rear Receivers, Welded on tie in brackets for the price of Just the JCR rear bumper!
I could think of a lot better way to spend that couple of hundred dollars!

The tie ins are included now. I don;t know if they were separate before, but they are included now. You could always weld them onto the bumper once you get it, there were a couple people who had to do some welding to fix their Nates bumpers. Mind you I haven't ever had a bumper from him, I'm just trying to help out the company that treated me good. :D

The web site still has the tie ins listed as $25 extra for the rear & I think $59 for the front+ $25 for the front receiver & $20 for the D rings. Adds up fast!
Having to weld on a new bumper is the last thing most people would want to do.

I do like the look of the JCR tire carrier, Nice looking design!

Are we looking at the same JCR? :)On the stage 3 tire carrier it includes the unibody tie ins. You can buy them separately as well, for the guy building his own bumper but doesn't want to make the brackets or whatever.

I had the same problem with the hardware. I ordered mine oct 08 and still havent received them. he doesn't care about filling your order. I have emailed him 30-40 times out of that he answered about 10. and said he would ship it out tomorrow like 4 times. last time he said that was ~4 weeks ago. and thats only my customer service complaint.

as far as the quality of my bumper goes its ok but alot of stuff is off. the receiver and chain hook plate are crooked, there is slag in the bumper that jingles around. and it sat in the rain for a day and now it has water inside it!

I filed a complaint with the better business bureau. I advise every one who has a problem to do so. I dont want to put him out of busness i just want him to responsible for what he sells.

end rant.

My only comlpaint with Nate is trying to get ahold of him. He wont check his email so just keep calling him. His voicemail fills up but if you keep at it you will get through.

I've fixed 2 welds on my front bumper from him and had to fill in 2 of the holes for the rear bumper and make new ones that lined up. He must use a plasma to cut them and not use a good template. Other than that, they're cheap bumpers with tabs on them.

I would check into jcroffroad or ajs offroad armor for sliders both are a great product from what I hear.

Yeah, I waited over a month for my rear bumper. He never answered my emails either BUT in the meantime I changed jobs and was supposed to have it delivered at the old job and I emailed him my home address and it arrived at home out of the blue one day....JCR I ordered stage 2 sliders (which by the way are the shit! and I love em) they forgot to send the hardware which I was pissed about but they also came about 2-3 weeks later than they were supposed to - oh well, these are a bunch of shotgun shack companies - if they continue their ways they will all be out of business then we can all laugh

His customer service is probably the worst in the aftermarket business but I still love my slimline bumper.

I hope someday I can say the same.... for now, I just sit and wait.......
I knew what I was getting into, but I still can't help wonder if my money becomes the first in a long list of "he just ran off with the money" complaints. I'm only at two and a half weeks, so I'm not complaining-- just left wondering....

I bought mine 3 or 4 years ago from him and thought the service was fine and thing the quality of the bumper is great. I got responses reasonably quick from him and he did say that is was best to catch him on the phone. This was a few years ago though...

Only complaint is that the D-rings I bought are a bit larger then the tabs on my bumper so I have to do some work to make them fit.

I'll be at the 4 week mark tomorrow (4-11) for my order. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will arrive any day now. He answered an email of mine shortly after I ordered stating that turn around time was 4-5 weeks but that he had been working overtime and hopefully it wouldnt take that long.

me hopes that's still the case-- my e-questions were responded to with an auto response of "I'm too busy to answer you."

Yeah his customer service is non existent. The way I got in touch with him was to call around 12:00 or 1pm here in Maine and just keep calling and calling until he picked up. I would have to call about 15 times before he would answer sometimes, i would just hand up and immediately redial. I figured I would annoy him into answering and it seemed to work.

But yeah he pretty much straight up lied to me about my bumper being shipped. I called him a week after the supposed shipping date and he said the bumper was going to leave the shop that day. Well 5 days later the bumper finally left. All in all it took about 2 months to get and the customer service sucked.
