NacFest- A story of Friendship, Bro-mance, And Jeep stuff

NUBBY LOVE?!!?? Did the nubby strike again?? Not sure which line you guys ran (is it bad that I can identify 95% of the trails in the pics so far??), but there is a nice line that goes straight up over at the top of Outer Limits. AND a line that runs along that ridge (from the far left, probably where you guys turned to go back down, across to the right). Both are nasty loose and rocky climbs.

I have been cruising through all the pics, looks like you guys had some fun!!!

A.

The nub got everyone. John's rig got off easy with some minor scratches to the fuel door. John, Colin (Adam Driving), Ross, and myself (attempted) the right side line.

You also could have lead with this...

If i saw that crew on the back roads of centralia, i would certainly turn around in fear of my life.

...........OK, long time coming, but here's my 2 Cents....
Aside from my first NacFest in 08, I would probably have to count this as the best in my eyes. New friends and Old friends, it appears everyone had a great time and everything ran smoothly both at the park and the campground. Both the BOD and every attending person deserves recognition (to me) for making that happen. It was great, as always, to see everyone who made it out. Carol and I loved it, it was just the kind of fun weekend we so desperately needed.
Congratulations to Rob on your award, .you've done an awful lot of running around behind the scenes, helping out, and sometimes shuttling unfortunate others to certain places when no one else could or would. Well deserved.
Considering some trail sections I ran that weekend were among the most hairy I've ever drug the 01 thru on 33's, I would also like to thank Keith for all his spot work. You deserved the plaque this year, not me.
Ok, two special mentions, but I could literally write a book. Thank EVERYONE who made it out this year and made this one of the most memorable weekends we've had there to date. Carol and I count ourselves lucky to call ALL of you our good friends, and we look forward to many more years of fun with all of you. To those of you that we know who couldnt make it out this year, you were dearly missed. We look forward to seeing everyone on the trail again soon.

Thanks for the nod, Rich - I can't wait to get back out to Rausch to use my free pass. Of course, that has to wait until I get the crossmember fixed - took a look under the Jeep earlier, and it appears that at least part of the reason my belly pan blew its framerail bolts is because the front bolt on the DS of the crossmember is gone . Gotta get that fixed, but have to decide which way to go - perhaps it's time to stop abusing poor, innocent OEM crossmembers and do something different?

Now, on to the pics:

I even went digging in my archive, and discovered that I was wrong - it wasn't 2006 that John was last out from Michigan, it was 2005! Here's a couple shots from that 'Fest, direct from my "wayback machine":

I'd forgotten about the snazzy wheels John had back then, how purple Andy's Jeep was when it still had all its sheet metal, and what Ben's old XJ looked like. Good times...

damn looks like you guys had a ton o fun. Hopefully next year I won't be getting married again and i can come
