Got a 90 civic with a non v-tech ls swap done with a blown motor. Just gonna toss another ls motor in it and drive it cause I stole it haha. Picked it up for 400 but have yet to pick it up. Will get a pic here shortly.

Only picture I got.

LOL...... I send him the craig's ad as a lead on some parts to fix the Civic he banged up and he buys the whole damn thing....

Someone's been a bad influence....... :shhh:

I've had two honda hatchbacks as DD's over the years -- great little cars (I hauled axles in the back of mine too! ;)). My 93 got 44 mpg in mixed driving -- makes you wonder what the hell is wrong with auto mfg today that they have to go hybrid to come up with that kind of milage, when they did it without blinking on gas engines in the late 80's/early-90s...

Mostly because those cars weigh over 500+ lbs less - there is way less comfort / beauty crap and safety gear tacked on.

I still find it hard to believe that technology has stood still for 20 years so that the weight of safety equipment (ridiculous in my opinion, BTW) can't be overcome.

Efficiency isn't a direct correlation to available power. If the vehicle is lighter the rolling resistance is lower and just takes that much less power just to push down the road.

You ever seen one of those Civic's with the vtec-e engine? I'd JUMP on one. get 60MPG Highway!

I'd agree, they're screwing us. Ever heard of the EV1...?

Weight and size are the major issues. My mechanically fuel injected 1.8L 8V Rabbit GTI (making all of 90-100hp stock) got 42mpg on the highway. It however was smaller than the revised Mini Cooper and probably weighted half as much. Thats why my next car will be a TDI, nothing like a Passat Wagon that'll get 40mpg highway.

I won't mind rolling in a little civic. One because its cheap and easy to work on. If I could I would love to get either a vr6 or TDI golf or a Subaru legacy with a 2.5. I may fix and sell this just to make some money. But we will see.

So finally got it to my house, pulled the valve cover to check the cams and stuff and the head is good! So just going to pull it off and use it on the block that I have lined up to pick up tomorrow. But here's an update as to why I need a block.

Air conditioning?

Positive crankcase ventilation?
