its mostly done...but i have lots more plans for the back

Couple of questions:
Any thoughts of it bolting in place so you could just cut to holes in your trim panel or do you already have a plan for just cutting out a big notch?
I thought you were going to mount it going left to right in the cargo area at and angle?
Just a couple of things, looking good bud.

the trim is not going back on, on that side. it probably wont go back on the other side either. i didnt like how it mounted at that angle, so i did it vertical (mostly). i can see out the side windows and the back, no obstruction of vision. lots more to do back there. its a work in progress

i dont even carry a spare anymore, i never had one for the trail rig it was too heavy and took up too much space.... i really need one since im the only idiot running six lug though....

i have bad luck with tires...i wont get a flat offroading...for some reason i seem to get nails in mine. i always gotta carry one ha

...don't forget Team Willys!!!

i think you should carry one doug... so the little CJ's don't waste precious cargo space...:looney:

Greg, I hear you like to play with the plasma?? Might make cuttin a little easier.:D

...so what do you do when you get 35s???

the tire actually floats about 1/4 inch off the floor, and there is a bit to spare above it. i think i can already fit a 35 in there. im sticking with 33's for awhile, i still daily drive it. upgraded axles/tires wont happen til i get a truck/trailer...

after work i gotta ship a radio to matt, then its off to get some sheet metal

dude ive got mad skills with the plasma...you dont even know haha
its a shame they cost so much (and matt lives so far away)

I know what you mean. It may be a good thing he lives so far away. If he lived closer there's no telling what the XJ would look like.:greensmok

You're right!!:roflmao:

so the aussie came in the mail today...a day earlier than expected! not sure when ill put it in, maybe tomorrow, maybe another day.

bought some sheet metal for the back, started on the drivers side:

22 gauge sucks to weld! i finally started getting a good system down, right at the end haha. i have a few spots to fix up, but its in there solid. ill be doing the whole rear of the xj like this, then putting down herculiner from the middle back. the front will retain the carpet, and will get a good amount of dynamat to keep it relatively quiet up front.

also have a few other plans up my sleeves for back there...
