My new XJ

hahaha...i havent forgotten about u postal! you got first dibs. ill prolly end up running these axles for a month, just til i get my other ones finished with the gears.

hey eric, got the solid spacer things...so no more crush sleeve in the 8.8

ok...update...mounts are in, bolted up, and welded. also threw 2 coats of paint over everything there. crossmember is back on too. started taking the upper bushing out, front axle is completely unbolted from everything.

no can do saturday...im going to a huge gun show in ky...where they let u rent machine guns, flame throwers, and other goodies :)

problem with the dana 30 HP i got. something in the pinion is messed up, so i need a new housing. has something to do with the bearing wanting to spin in there...idk.

so anybody got an empty HP housing just layin around? no gears or shafts needed.

oh...and i drove my jeep to work today :)....ill post build pics tonight, they are still on my camera.

Nearing completion:

actually moved the axle back a bit, which raised the front up some more. also the shocks bumped the front up a bit. Ill have to add in spacers when i put my bumper on.

Tonight i cut off my exhaust pipe, and made a custom turn down. The 2.5" tube was hitting the leaf spring. also welded 4 bolts up in place for 'studs' for the rear shocks, since i snapped the upper ones. right after work i got an alignment too.

for 4.5 to 5.5 inches of lift...do i need a drop pitman arm or anything? or will stock steering do alright?

this coming weekend ill be doin the sye (hopefully), still need to rebuild 2 of my front driveshafts.

rear shocks on:

upper shock studs i welded in...

heres how i did the exhaust. cut end off, made it into a turndown. welded on a support with a hook on the end, to integrate it into the stock support. i reused the hook that was on the pipe, an just welded it to the top of that square tubing. no chance of it hittin on the leaf springs now!

Nice work man. I haven't crossed the threshold to long arms, but i was wondering if you have clearance issues with your LCAs? I haven't seen many applications with the 'bend' towards the top.

nope...no issues yet. you cut off the stock lower control arm mounts before install anyways. they are high clearance arms...so no scrapping and dragging them on the rocks.

yep...least this time i was able to drive out of the ditch...

my neighbor thought i was crazy...kept waving at me to stop...i kept waving back that its ok haha

Are you bringing it to the M&G this weekend? It's looking good.

I like the small wheels I have a set of 235-75-15's that i put on onceinawile and ride around on just for the heck of it :)

Man the jeep looks great I like the upper diff flex joint
How can i get my hands on some of them?

I have a small set too, but after putting on the 32's, it's so hard to want to change back.

got my wheels and tires on
