My new tow rig

Looking good, another vote for a house window unit pop it in right in front on the over head spot so you can point the A/C right at your swalls :D

so after I loaded it up last night the air suspension was all pissy and not working.

I drove it back to the barn with no air bags and it was horrible.

I done fixed my fancy air bags today and took it for a proper test drive, and the verdict is, awesome.

Honestly that's not much difference between empty and loaded, just slower. Still has brakes that will put you through the window, handles the same, will still do 60, just takes a long time to get there.

I much prefer how it handles and drives to the 1/2ton+trailer combo. Cruising throttle was about the same, so it's probably 10 MPG loaded or empty.

Dan I wish you were coming on a weekend to cedar point, I'd drive up there and park this bish next to yours and we'd be the awesomest people at the campground.

Nice tow rig/camper. I just moved this weekend with one of the gas trucks (U-Haul) and I was dreaming a little. I am glad you have somewhere to park this thing. It would be rough having it in the driveway all the time.

Enjoy!

that's why I'm coming during the week, so you don't make my MH look like crap. :D

I'm pretty sure the weinerbox would win an ugly contest.

if you ever attempt something like this make sure you have a place to store it before purchase. I spent a month prior to buying a truck making sure I could store/insure/plate it and not go broke doing so.

Getting it in the driveway is interesting, narrow street with parking on either side of my driveway. I just jump the curb.:laugh2:

Since I assume you drive it into the truck, how do you get out of the jeep once inside (alternately, how do you get in to back it out)?

Have you ever seen Nate? He can open the door & get out.

I wanna see pics of this 'camped' this weekend.

Got an email from Nate about an hour ago. The rear end gears suck, he's topping out at 58 on the highway. Still getting 10 mpg. They had about 3 hours to go.

Oof. 58 mph on a long haul would be rather unpleasant to say the least. OTOH, he could probably tow a house, not slow down, or burn any more fuel either.

I think at this point it's either the 10 speed tranny upgrade or locating a 4.33 chunk for the rear end instead of the 5.73.

Man, there's a lot of innuendo in that sentence :D

I thought he had a line on a 4.33 rear end...

mac 'either way...both of us aren't there...' gyvr

The 4.33 rear was in Alabama and he couldn't find a way to get it to ohio.

the 4.33 and a spare tire were ready to be put on a pallet, but they were in Tuscaloosa.......

I think a 6 or 7 speed trans is what I need. 5.57's is pretty sweet up hills, I only slowed down about 5 MPH on the worst of them.

Gas mileage thus far is 10 ish
