1997 2 door with an ax-15 (with HD SYE kit) 5 speed, 150k on the clock. 5" short arm lift, ford 8.8 rear geared at 4.11, front is a HP D30 stock geared at 3.07 (currently no drive shaft). Needs a exhaust manifold. Manual windows and door locks. Kenwood head unit ($400) with memphis speakers all around, sound bar in rear. No tow package and no tow hitch. Bumper still needs to be completed. No roof rack or anything ever came with it.
Moab rims with Dueler 285's (33")
Engine runs great.
Tranny is start to give me some problems, just put in a SACH's HD clutch. SOunds and feels like 1st gear is going out.

Issue: I want an automatic. And I want a 2 door.

Solution: I found a stock automatic 1998 2 door with 170k on the clock, clean motor, needs a new manifold and motor mounts. Has sound bar and infinity system built into the car, power everything. Black on gray interior, interior is a 4/10. Tow package and skids, 3.55 geared stock with a 8.25. Ski rack. Stock rims and 27" tires.
Found it ^ at a dirty car lot for $4k, could get them down to $2500 cash. No trade in.

Question: Is it worth it? I want a damn automatic, should I sell mine and get the auto?

How much would you say mine is worth?

Thank you all in advance.

By the auto and transfer the non-OEM parts from your stick to the auto. Then transfer the stock parts onto what is now your old Jeep. Then give me the 97. Problem solved.

Buy the auto, keep the stick for back up...Hell it is easy to own 2 jeeps.. I use mine for the rocks and the wifes for the easy stuff...

Eh, can't really afford 2 right now.
I want an auto really bad but i don't know if worth the work.
more electronics means more crap that brakes...

Both of mine are autos.. I think for off roading they work better....Ok, buy the auto, change over all your stuff an then sale the stick... Does this sound better for you? Only out for a little bet for the cash...

hmmm...

maybe.
but if i am gonna do another lift, i'm doing a long arm with my choice of springs and leafs.

So, you are going to talk yourself out of doing this! If i was short on cash, but could swing it for a couple of months this is what i would do.. Just transfer over all your stuff, the body looks clean... 2 doors sale easy from what i see on here... Down the road you can buy your long arms..sale your shorts for some cash....My 2 cents..

Although I am baffled at why you would want an auto...(see user name :D ) I agree with scottmcneal as that option being your best bet. But again, personally....I'm quite confused!! hehe

One thing you should do though is sell me those tan leather seats ASAP lol.
