Mosquitos?

Getting ready for our annual Coyote Lake run in late July or early August and the most important question is: How bad are the mosquitos this year? Never know until I get there. Over the years (going on 21 now!) they've been anywhere from REALLY bad to non-existant (hoping). Just looking to get a heads up so I know wether or not to order a 50 gal drum of Cutters......I really hate mosquitos! Thanks---------Hans

I was up at red lake this weekend and the mosquitos were the worst I have ever seen. We had 100% deet and I came home with plenty bites. I know that coyote has less than red lake. Usually in july there are substantially less mosquitos, but it was hot on saturday and there were so many that we could not stand it. At one time I believe you could kill 25 on my sleeve in one swipe! I am wondering if the high frequency sound things work for mosqitos? If not get you mosqito nets and long sleeve shirts out!

Nevertheless, coyote is one beautiful lake. The trail wasn't bad either this trip. Not even mosqitos will stop me from going! Just build a smokey fire! haha

I was up on the Rubicon this weekend and they were probably the worst I've ever experienced up there but nowhere near as bad as the last time I was up at Red Lake(a couple years ago). Red Lake had the absolute worst mosquitos I've ever experienced anywhere.

I was up at Red Lake with Jes and it SUCKED!!!!! They were everywhere. I had over 100 bites.... I think that trip was in Early July though. Not sure how they are going to be in late July though.

Man, I'm rethinking this whole time frame now because, I really hate mosquitos and I've been trying to talk the GF into going.......I'd probably never hear the end of it if it turns into a feeding frenzy. Thanks guys-------Hans
