Modified Hummer Driver Underwater

A buddy of mine said they used to do that when he was in the Marine Corp. The USMC HMMWV's always came with snorkels and extended tail pipes as part of a deep water fording kit. He said they would extend the snorkel and exhaust pipes even more than the kit did and don scuba gear, then they would drive completely underwater off the California coast.

I love the old dueces. I used to operate an m35 back when I first joined. Good old manual transmission and multi-fuel engine.

That the one with the GM I-6? I worked on an old era 2.5T once when I was stationed at Fort Carson. I can't remember the model though. It had a GM I-6 gas motor and for the air intake it had an inlet going into the cab with a cap on it. The data plate said to remove the cap and install it under the hood for deep water fording. It basically closed off the under hood air inlet and used the inlet inside the cab. Pretty sweet actually. I never finished the project, I ended up leaving Fort Carson before it was done. It was supposed to be a display for another base somewhere. We were doing a cosmetic restoration.

didn't drive the 2 1/2 enough to become real familiar with it
Drove the hell out of the cracker box ambulance and the litter jeeps they did have fording kits but we never used them also had tires that were near useless in mud also had a stencil on all 4 fenders 35 lbs tire pressure and above that this vehicle cost 2300-00 dollars you are responsible for it , in other words if you broke it through negligence or carelessness you biught i they would take it out of your pay
