MLK weekend is coming up. Monday the 17th is MLK Jr. Day, for those of you who don't have calendars.

So where's the run going to be?

How about this coming weekend? I'd be up for that. We have lots more snow on the way. :)

Brett, Saturday would probably be best for me too. I believe Cal4Wheel's Winter Fun Fest is up near Malakoff, so maybe Iron Mtn. would be better? Where is it?

iron mtn. road is up near Placerville. check the trail rides section of the Pirate board, there is a 4 page post about it with pictures from the past several weeks. also, Red Dog road right outside Grass Valley would be fun too (and closer for me :) ) but they don't always have as much snow. maybe as the date gets closer I'll go up there and check it out.

Sorry U guys, I just want to wheel pretty soon. I'm going to be putting my xj down pretty soon to get my new axles swapped in. I cannot do 15-16th, I'm out of town again. Thanks for the pics on Pirate and hope to see you guys soon on a run.

Red Dog is fun and pretty mild, don't know how it is in the winter though. There is stuff for everyone there from mild to moderate. I wouldn't mind going there. I haven't wheeled for about 3 months now and want to see how my X-terrains and new 3 row radiator do.

U guys really need to check the local weather before you go. I just saw some reports of avalanches around Lake Tahoe, I don't know where exactly. The locals says they haven't seen snow like in a long time. Just don't want you guys ending up like the Donner Party. :laugh3:

Ok, for whoever else was following this we're running on Friday...but post up about your own runs if Friday doesn't work for you!

I-80 & Foresthill, 9AM Friday.

got back a little while ago from our trip up to Foresthill area. It was Phil and I along with his friend with a YJ on 36s (lsd/open).

I guess we waited a couple days too long because the snow was the exact wrong consistency for wheelin, too heavy to push but not heavy enough to ride on top. Regardless, we had fun :D I ended up going down to 4psi with my 35" MTRs on 15x10s, and was suprised to not loose a bead, after a while I was even kinda trying to loose one. I broke trail for a couple of miles until we got where the sun been hitting the snow and it got even thicker

plus I was digging 4ft holes down to mud:

Also had to pull a 1/2 ton Chevy (w/ open diffs) out. A good trip, no breaks, and finished off with In N Out, what more could one ask for?

Saw you guys headed home as I was headed back to the house. Looks like fun, I guess, if you must play in the snow. :puke:

What, U don't like playing in the white stuff Crash? It's fun. I guess if U live in it, it's not that fun as it is to drive to and away from it. I know I got out of Chicago because of the weather and flat non-fun wheeling.

The whole first half of January was a daily snow/ice run for me.
