Some recommendations for the illegals they do catch, fly em to the southern border of Mexico, don't just thro em back over the fence.

I know that over 30 hospitals in the border areas had to close over the past 2 years because they were swamped with illegals and are required by law to provide services.

Health insurance, whats that, I have not been able to afford it since 2002 but I see that illegals get it from the govt. We have people around here that collect Social security and get medicaid who have only been here for 2 or 3 years. I used to see them the same time every month at the bank but not any more, guess they have direct deposit now.

I wonder if florida is ready for another prisoner release program from castro yet.

What the Minutemen have done for sure is put a spotlight on a potentially explosive issue that doesn't seem to get much real debate. They have been ridiculed and maligned as racists, anti-Mexican, rednecks, etc. So far, illegal border crossing arrests have been dramatically higher since these citizen volunteers have been standing ONE MILE inside the U.S. border and making radio calls to the Border Patrol officials when they spot someone suspicious.

Let's make the assumption that a good percentage, even most of those crossing the border are just trying to participate in or emulate the American Dream. Let's look at this with the ole' Socratic Method.

Q. Why are so many Mexican and Central Americans streaming over the border illegally?
A. Because it is very difficult to immigrate or work here legally
Q. Why is it difficult to immigrate or work here legally?
A. Because the U.S. immigration laws are a convoluted mess designed to systematically control immigration from certain regions
Q. Why are our laws a mess that discriminate against certain groups?
A. Because when most of our current laws were being formulated twenty years ago, the members of the majority party in congress were being heavily lobbied by a powerful, influential, and wealthy special interest group.
Q. What is that powerful special interest group?
A. Labor Unions
Q. What political party does organized labor heavily lobby and make huge political donations to?
A. Democrats

Making the charge that being anti-porous border is somehow automatically anti-brown people is ludicrous. Likewise, charging that somehow conservative minded people are a bunch of Red-State, Hilllbilly, Rednecks is also a fallacy. If there is anything that a good conservative has a hard-on for (besides lower taxes), its CHEAP LABOR! I, as a gun totin', brown-skinned Redneck Republican am 100% in favor of having our neighbors provide enough low cost labor to help keep inflation in check. Helping less developed states raise their standard of living is a sure fire way to reduce the financial burden currently being experienced by border states. I support policies that would concurrently encourage immigrant labor AND strongly protect U.S. Security. That is the political discourse that I hope comes about from the efforts of the Minutemen.

Immigrants are here legally and deserve all that America has to offer. Illegals deserve NOTHING.

I live and breath this debate EVERY FREAKIN DAY!! I will again make it CRYSTAL clear I have NO problem with ANY ethnicity seeking legal immigrate status in this great country that’s how it came to be, hell I would help them in every way but if you are here illegally you deserve NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING. We have lost almost EVERY ER here in Tucson I could go on and on but what’s the point.
I wonder how much your tune would change if you would have had any and all help from the government (That you rightly desire as a citizen) DENIED to you with your daughter because so many Illegal immigrants had bogged the system down to the point that you got NOTHING. I have seen it happen so many times to people that have worked all there life hit a bump and needed help only to find NONE. Oh and while you walk out of the office you are bumped into by some nice lady getting out of her 2006 H2 to pick up her food stamps and government housing voucher and you look over to see her out of country plates in a handicap spot because she can.

I do not blame anyone for wanting to better themselves and there are ALWAYS exceptions but this is pretty much the norm here in good old Arizona, don’t see to many war refugees running around here. When I drive to work at 6am in the morning I see 6 out of 10 plates from Mexico going to work as well and that pisses me off, not because of the fact that they are going to work but I have been seeing the same cars for over a year and hell I got nailed with a fine when I didn’t reregister my truck from out of state within 10 days of moving here???????? The point is we have some SERIOUS problems with our immigration system and our border security and the Minuteman program is bring attention to it. Megan I’ll make sure I tell them Hi for you this weekend when I go drop off water for them AND the Emergency stations for the immigrants that get stuck out in the desert.

i don't know where to begin with this post. quite frankly, i've been shocked at the ease apon which people can easily make personal attacks on others. I readily admit, and have done so more than once, that there have been some good points made, points that even i can agree with. I would even care to say that a majority of the posts have been well worded, well thought out posts. My gf (megan), is admittedly not an expert on this subject. She does have an interest in it, as all of us do. She is very emotional and when she read these posts, some of which were personally attacking me, she got upset to say the least. i didn't know she would sign up and post anything, but then again it doesn't surprise me either. she speaks whats on her mind and i applaud her for it. she tried to defend me because she loves me. That makes me love her even more. i'm officially done with this thread, it does nothing but give me headaches. I can no longer deal with the closed mindedness permiating throughout. I'm glad you all feel better talking to her in such a manner. its been proven that men grow bigger balls when they berate women online. congrats
