Anybody know of any good mild trails in northeast tennessee, some of my buddies in unmodified jeeps want to go too, so nothing outrageous, just a trail to have fun on....all suggestions appreciated

In KY, about 45 minutes from FT CAMPBELL, there is land between the lakes, turkey bay offroad area, everything from mild to moerate-wild. Defiatly dooable in a stock vehicle though,

There's a place called Bumpus Cove near Erwin that might be what you're looking for. I'm not sure how to get there exactly, my Dad and brother used to go. It's somewhere between Greeneville and Erwin. It might be worth asking around. If you're up for more of a trip then Windrock might be the place to go, 70,000 acres of trails there to explore.

Also, visit the Hurricane Creek trail just over the TN border in NC off of I-40 in the gorge. If coming from the west, get off at Fines Creek exit and get back on going back west. The trail begins right off the side of the highway immediately after the first Harmon Den exit sign. Its easy to miss, locate it on a map before heading out to find it.
Its a moderate trail for smaller jeeps, and it's super beautiful. Remember its within Pisgah NF so stay on the trail and tread lightly. Its rare for something like this to be legal and ungated!!

Turkey bay

I went to turkey bay in my 2000 with 30 inch tires ranco shocks and no lift.Got my ass spanked. people were nice and pulled me out.will never make fun of yjs again.

There is a trail which used to be the Jamestown/Oneida railroad line. I did that one stock 5 years ago. It is in Big South Fork NP.

There is one fairly large river to cross...wide, but shallow...but nothing too outrageous. I haven't been there is some time, so I don't know what it looks like now.

I recall that is is very narrow, as it used to be primarily for ATVs. The Z-71 that was with us had trouble on the narrow trails.

It could take the better part of a day to run the trail, especially if it gets too narrow and you have to turn around and come back the way you got in.

From Jamestown, you take 154 N to 297 E. Follow that into the forest and past park headquarters. Follow until 297 meets Station Camp Road. There is (was) a T&T gas station on that corner. Go about .6 miles and turn right onto an unmarked road.

If you can follow it all the way, it looks like you do 2 or 3 river crossings, and thenend up on Mt. St. Helen Road and follow that to Hwy 52 which will take you back to Jamestown.

I know of some people who have received tickets on Huricane.

Dennis Cove and Stoney Creek in Elizabethton, TN

Do you know what for? This was a legal road. Haven't been there in a year or so, but was planning to go through there on my way to Max Patch this fall.

thanks,
