Meeting details

Ok guys, an update:

Medved is excited to host us and will let us have a corner lot for ourselves (out back, but that's cool). We're scheduled for the 19th to use their meeting room. The general manager also graceously offered to let us join their staff for lunch. Every Saturday, Medved makes lunch for their employees with several items on the menu. The GM said that we'd have to pitch in for our costs, but he said it would likely be fairly cheap. He's gonna have his chef call me to get the details and a price breakdown. I thought this might be a great deal especially if the weather is crappy and BBQ would be less enjoyable. He also said we'd be ok to BBQ on site and that the chef may be willing to do the grilling and they have a grill there. I'll have more details later.

This is the plan. We can start showing up around 10:00A.M. and lets plan on the meeting no later than 11:00A.M.

Good idea, but there's no way to reasonably get a head count for the lunch. They'd also have to be told they need to pay for the food...... I say we keep it this time and when we have a budget to spend, then we can invite outside the club and host them on our dime. I'd hate to tell Medved a number then have a bunch of others show up.

Just got the return call from Bandimere.....

In a nutshell, Bandimere isn't willing to "sponsor" us. They'll require us to rent whatever space we decide to use.... and it ain't cheap. The only meeting room they could let us use would be one of the observation suites above the drag strip and that's $385.

For us to hold an outdoor meeting and/or a swapmeet, the guy tells me "well, you'd have to come out here sometime and I'd show you some of the property, you tell me how much space you wanna use, and then I can come up with a price to rent the location - we're in the business to make money".

So, until such time that the Colorado Chapter is able to build on an expense account, I'd say Bandimere is outta the picture for any of our meetings or events.

Another possibility is Jefferson County Fairgrounds. I may have an "in" there to be able to use some property there. I'll look into that for future use.

okey dokey...
i won't say anything on CO4x4, but i already posted the "meet & greet" to the COLO XJ list (probably a moot point as there is obviously a high number of folks here & there).

i intentionally left out the start time, so perhaps you, led, or joey could post a message there inviting them to show up after the meeting & lunch, say 1pm or something?
unless of course they are intersted in becoming a member, then they could RSVP and join us earlier in the day?

thanks for organizing this. too bad about bandimere, but at least they were hone$t re: their motivation!
