It appears that progress is being made slowly regarding continued use of the historic town road favored by many 4-wheelers. For NAC members and friends who have been wondering what;s happening, here's the official word. The report does NOT, however, tell us what do do in the interim while an agreement is being negotiated among the players.
To be safe and to not muck up the negotiations, I strongly urge all who wish to run this trail to continue the practice we have been following for the past year -- go in from whichever end you prefer, run the trail to the water crossing, turn around and go out the way you came in. Crossing the wetland or going around it on the prohibited by-pass will only serve to reinforce opposition to allowing full-size vehicles on the trail at all.
