What is the sound of one hand typing?
ok, so while i'm rolling, i'll stop and look for signs of wear and tear before i finish rolling
you cannot always see carbon fiber damage, if the layers start to delaminate after an impact, you will likely not notice unless you go around tapping your entire cage listening for a difference in the sound. and that's when they fail catastrophicaly, when the damage goes unseen and the tube loses it's structural integrity. then POP!
there's a HUGE difference between carbon tubing and a carbon monocoque chassis.if something is gonna fails, its gonna fail. how many people routinely check the condition of their cage or unibody? through and through, up and down?
im just saying this stuff is meant to absorb impact, often deflect or direct impact, and then return to its original shape. CNT is used to scafold entire buildings. but i doubt itd be a cost effective alternative for a cage. might want to talk to the engineers of some super cars... some sport entire carbon fiber chassis... and an impact at 200mph is going to see a hell of a lot more damage than a simple roll over.
if you want something that you know will work, use DOM. you want to use something different... try it. either youll end up on the cover of 4wheeler, or with a darwin award.
what are you going to do about it, shoo me out of your summer home with a broom again?
