Mark your Calendars - Wheeling and AAT, Father's Day Weekend!

Fathers day is the wheeling day. AAT is the day prior.

BTW I'll gladly spend my fathers day cleaning a trail.

I only get spoiled on one day a year and im not going to spend it doing the same shit I do every other day of the year, ( working on something I will probably never use )..... sorry, I hope you have fun.... besides, I wont have my truck and jeep ready so I will be getting them ready for FUN

any body smart would have scheduled the clean up for a NON family related day.... just my $.02

Nobody is being coerced into participating. You are free to spend your weekend as you please. Insulting those who give their time to organize activities and events for the good of the chapter is uncalled for. Can't we maintain a modicum of mutual respect and civility?

we can.... my apologies.... I just don't understand why every one who plans these type of things plans for Family oriented weekends or holiday weekends when there are a million other things happening instead of innocuous ones where there is NO "special day " on the calendar, is it because they want their even tied to something special? not talking smack, just honestly curious, I know I plan my River wheeling event over New Years because its a long weekend and it gives an option to friends to come hang out for a few days but I DO NOT expect a large turnout nor do I give guilt trips when people don't come out.... By the way, I do thank you G. for doing the organizing of the AAT program, I hope you get a killer turnout

Not calling Geoff smart is more like a compliment to smart people than an insult to him really...

Also please RSVP either here and/or on Facebook so I bring enough lunch for everybody. The plan is basic cheeseburgers / hot dogs plus chips, bring your own (non-alcoholic) beverage.

Are there many AAT clean-ups that NAXJA does? I'm fairly new, but I plan to be quite involved (I'm one of the founding members of www.clean-dezert.org but I'm moving on the the slow stuff).

Fathers day is of course a tough one since I plan to be with my dad. And day trip to BB isn't exactly cheap in a Jeep! Is there any other way I can help? Donate? Send food? Anything at all?

Thanks for doing this everyone!

Keep an eye on the AAT forum. We will post up more runs.

Saturday was a productive day.

Beamer, Roxie, Stephan, and myself did quite a bit of brush clearing, cleaned up one very litter strewn dispersed campsite, filled in one illegal fire pit, and had some burgers.

We saw a few squirrels, a few chipmunks, one doe, and one bobcat.

Saturday I camped in the group site by myself. It was a nice relaxing night.

Sunday I cleared camp and made a run to return the Adopt-A-Trail tools to the forest service shed. After that I did a patrol of 2N04 making sure our trail was still in good shape. I got home at 8:30 PM.

Not a bad way to spend the weekend.
