Marines need Johnson Valley

I will say that's well written but a lot of fluff and lip service. First, the EIR did NOT take public input into account. They went through the legally requires motions but all but ignored the public input. My wife does environmental consulting for a living, she is my source.

Secondly the training they seek is basically for a Middle East large scale battle with large numbers of fighters on the ground. Think that's going to happen again in the next decade or more? In 2003 when the hunt for better training started I got it. Now?

I support the Marines and I've been involved with this issue for 8 years now. I don't think they have adequately satisfied or mitigated the impact to off-roading and especially to racing. I don't support this option.

im a Marine.......well retarded...i mean retired.

being at 29 palms for a couple years i realized.....we devil dogs didnt need any more damn desert.

plenty of rocky hills, sandy washes, and vast flat dirt to do all we needed.

i dont ever remember running around in the deserts of lands afar thinking, "oh i needed more training in an environment like this." Nor did and of my fellow Marines superior or subordinate.

Better training? Let the Marines take out some of these homos in DC!

Git some, kill, rah....SEMPER FI!

Ben, you one crazy mufugga!

I don't know much about this jv issue with the mc. But if they are proposing to let the public still access it and run KOH. And other races then what is the issue? It seems like it could be a good thing to help jv out with military funding in the area plus the off road support. What am I misunderstanding? IMO if the marine corps wants jv that bad they will get it eventually. At least now they are willing to share. Someone fill me in here.

share via part time live ordinance training... uh oh looks like we're got unexploded ordinance on site you guys can't come here anymore.

nevermind the environmental impact study that says they're going to extinct at least one species of tortise and countless plants. wheeee.

read up on this shit man, its no good for anyone and they DON'T NEED THE LAND FOR TRAINING as countless corpsman have attested. plus you know, the whole obama scaling back our military thing... this land grab makes NO SENSE :thumbdn:

fill yourself in.

this is why we are losing our OHV ground.

if you cared enough to know then youd have a different opinion.

the "well i dont know much about it but it seems okay i think" attitude is why this country seems about as free as disneyland anymore.

call me a corpsman again mofo. i mean i love my corpsman but thems navy folk who roll with us Marines and put tampoons in our wounds.

you know what i meant you butt dart. :confused1

the point is MANY marines say they don't need more land and they don't use what they've already got to its full potential, posts stating that are all over the JV boards and pirate.

Easy guys. I wasn't trolling here. The proposal was worded well enough that it looks like a win win for everyone. I'm still a rookie when it comes to this shit. The reason I asked was to get more informed. At least here I could get better views on the whole issue. Im not lazy I just don't know where to begin. Thanks for the heads up though.
