Opie and I are going to go to Pick n Pull tomorrow. We're going to hit the Rancho Cordova yard first, leaving his place around 10AM. Some people have my number. :confused1

We had so much fun today - were going to do it again tomorrow!

being at the rancho lot at 8:00am

Didnt see a rear 44...

but there is a leaf sprung f-250 hp44 8 lug flat top 69"wms axle there...

and a 29 spline 8.25 from a 98 4 door with good door skins...

Phil and i went to pick and pull on friday to get some body pannels to make put junk less junk...

Phil instantly took control and became the commander -

then we found some bling rims on a broken steering knuckle -

And we found a 98 XJ at a pick and pull with a 29 spline 8.25 -

Then we saw Big RED!!!!!!!!

then we got down to business -

Phil says "You wanna see my what? Your grill!"
note the blingin chrome waggy spec grill!

Grabbed a header pannel, Chrome grill, chrome light surrounds, chrome windsheild trim, right fender, and left fender from this pretty 89 XJ. My MJ will be blindingly bling!

From this XJ we grabbed a header pannel and a left fender. I also got a interior dash piece that my MJ came without ??

At the end of all the effort to pull our fenders/header pannels we got to the counter and the dude wanted like $280 for my parts... and mentioned that today (saturday) was half price day...

so we stashed our stuff in a cargo van...

and came back today! With Brian (Sharpie1k) who was on the hunt for the elusive XJ44!

Turned out in the yards we went to he might as well have been snipe hunting... :D

We showed up to the Rancho Cordova domestic yard and re-aquired our parts. As we headed to the front to chuck our misc body parts in Brian's rig, we ran into seymouj who we chatted with a bit about wheeling and shared some good stories with. He mentioned that he had a chrome front bumper for me, so I saved that $$$. We parted with seymouj and headed for the front and paid for our parts... The lady ringing me up missed one of my fenders... so my total on half price day was only $89.00 :D :D

then we headed over to a few other parts yards and hung out and had a good time. Made fun of small cars, talked down on IFS systems, and looked at suzuki junk for a while.

Sat down in some really cool Chrysler New Yorker 5th Avenue Edittions with lots o leather... :D

Also found an El Camino with a completely yellow engine bay and white with yellow accent interior pieces... :D

At the end of the day, we ended up back at my appartment where some good liquid was to be had... :D

Even funnier than the decal was that the van that this was stuck to, formerly belonged to a preschool

actually, we pulled some saab side vents, but I didn't like em, so I put em back. They are sitting on the only cherokee in the Stockton Blvd PnP, with the bolts and everything

Musta just missed you guys on saturday... I was in rancho trying to hunt down a yota IFS steering box... harder than finding an XJ 44 I swear.

I nominate this as the gayest thread ever.
