Been a while since I posted I know... life's been rough but I'm still rolling.

Anyways I'm going to do my head gasket and was wondering if anyone has any experiences with shops in the east bay (pref in the Hayward area). I'm just looking to get it resurfaced (no valve jobs /etc) don't really have the money for anything else...

Why are you changing your head gasket? Did you overheat it? Is the head warped? If not, and you aren't doing a valve job, then why bother with the machine shop?

My exhaust manifold is cracked horribly bad. So I figure since I'm already in that direction I might as well replace the head gasket. I've been fighting a over heating problem since I got the Jeep... everything has been replaced multiple times, and it gets worse and worse. Bothering with the machine shop as everyone tells me to at least do that, and it's not a terribly large amount of money in comparison to everything else.

Probably a good idea then. Good luck.
