LUVMYJP Plate Tour 2006

Re: LUVMYJP Plate Tour 2004

Well the "official" plate has reported back in one piece. :laugh3: by sending a few post cards from China. Has not returned so not out of the woods yet.

Got taken by a Land Rover owner ( my father in-law ) business class, and a window seat no less, to China. After spending all that time inside the comfort of my XJ, nothing less can be expected from now on!

Got his own seat at a business dinner to check out the local fare.

Even got to pose with a Chinese XJ.

But where to next and when is the question? Have been sworn to a new code of secrecy so only much money will pry it out of me :gag:

Love the hood badge, is that "jeep" in chinese?!!

Also gotta love the Honda license plate bracket!

Is that "Snoopy" embroidered into the seats?

Is it off to Tianemen Square to get the dents flattened out?

:firedevil

I'm trying to figure out what on the roof with Jeep written on it on both sides. Maybe it is some sort of wind deflector for the rack you think? Has one of those visors fitted and they seem to be added to the top of that. Notice the one west coast mirror too.

I think my father in-law did a great job here getting these shots. He is over there as an engineer for a large corporation yet takes photo inside a restaurant of a licence plate sitting propped up in a chair! Did the same on the plane with others sitting around no doubt. Then to get the XJ shot, he got the driver to chase an XJ through the streets to get a shot only to lose it. Then later gets a call from a guy that says he spotted one in the street and to come quickly. Goes across town just to take the plate and camera to get the shots even though they don't know who owns it and cant find them either.

Good on him for his effort ;)

I'm thinking its dual pop-up sunroofs. The super skinny kind, or maybe two skinny sunroof wind deflectors.

I agree, Pops get a t-shirt for the effort, not knowing why the heck he is doing this...and probably getting little enjoyment out of it. :D

Maybe it should just stay there seeing as John was so mean and wouldn't let me keep it after the tour! Still, he doesn't beleive it is even over here so it might as well stay ;)

Check out the exhaust. Sould ask Beezil if you need to run one of these when you have a snorkel as well. ;)

Hmm... I guess that tire carrier and rear gate don't swing out anymore...

Unless that vertical exhaust is quick-release

:D

Wow, just read 18 pages of some funny sh!t. This thread rocks.

Whoever has the plate currently, ask it if it wants to take a ride on a U.S. Nuclear Submarine. I know I can arrange that. Come visit New England for a few days.
