Looking for a PC .exe tracking utility

PC Question:

Okay, the boss thinks that an employee is hooking up a thumbdrive to a PC and playing games from it. He wants to fire the person.

Does anyone know of a utility that creates a log file showing what .exe files are run and when?

Thanks.

...or howabout a log file that shows when a usb thumbdrive is connected?

Try /var/log/messages

Oh wait, it must be windows. What flavor?

Try control panel, administrative tools. A few things in there to look for.

Wait, he wants to fire the guy, so he is looking for evidence that he is playing games. Yet he has no proof? How did he come to that conclusion then? Maybe he is doing it on his break? Is his performance up to par? Gets his work done? Maybe he is surfing Jeep sites on company time too? :D

Another employee complained to the boss that during the graveyard shift that this employee was playing games all night long while they were working.
I know - :rattle:

Boss drives a Jeep - well kind-of (KJ).

Sounds like they need to fire the Supervisor too then. If the employee is surfing the web or playing games during work hours, he should be canned, as well as the supervisor that is too lazy or stupid to manage his charges.

Of course, just my opinion. This is usually where those that rip off and steal from their employers come in and give their excuses for screwing off on company time. ;)
