Where is Lockwood/Miller?

Lockwood it located about 40 miles north of Valencia/Santa Clarita area.

Some direction on how to get there courtesy of Qwiksilver from Ruggedjeep.com

Flying J is on Frazier Mountain Road. Take that exit off the I-5. You can't miss the Flying J. Big truck stop. Great breakfast. Get there early.

Take Frazier Mtn. Rd. up into the hills (west) to a little community called Lake of the Woods. At Lockwood Valley Rd. make a left.

Take Lockwood Valley Rd. to 8N12 (Lockwood Creek Rd.) Make a left. It's a dirt track.

Follow this around until you come to a wide area. You can air down here. In front of you will be a gate (open if there is no snow). That is the beginning of the trail. If you are lucky, a friendly ranger will come around and hand out maps.

Rule about Lockwood/Miller is this...if you can't get up the first part above the creek...back down and turn around. That is the roughest obstacle. I got up it on 31" ATs...and not much experience.

Sounds fun. So you'll be leaving the Flying J around 9am?
Which McDonalds were you refering to?

Fillmore McD's for those coming from Santa Barbara, Ventura, Ojai, Oxnard, erc. Coming from the LA area you may want to meet us at Flying J.

Had a great time thanks to all who attened. All in all it was great trip with minor set back at the entrance of the trail thank to the group in front of ours and once again at the end of the trail from the same group. Our group was big containing rigs from MJR, NAXJA, and RUGGEDJEEP. Great trip but I felt the lockwood and miller is farely easier this year than other years. Again thank to all who attened.

These pics kinda suck, there are no action shots i was riding alone so i only had a chance to take pics when we stopped(which was about 75% of the time)

Nice pics, a good time was had although I think I did more hiking to assist vehicles than most Sierra Clubbers do in a year. :laugh3: Here are some shots I got in but I was lost as to who was with what group and quite a few split off without waiting at the obstacles so I did not get as many shots as intended, being tailgunner.

Enjoy
