Local Spring Shop?

Hi guys,

I am going to be putting together my bastard pack in a couple of weeks and was hoping to find a local source for the rebound clips, u-bolts and liners.

Does anyone know of any spring shops in the bay area? Preferrably in the south bay, but will take what I can get. If there are none, I guess I will just order them from Husky Spring online.

If you can find a good deal on liners, let me know. I think 40' will do 5 leafs per side, if I remember right.

I can't remember where it was right now, but when I was looking last year I think you had to buy a whole roll. I would be in on splitting a roll if others are interested. Preferably the liners with a lip so they don't slide out.

It's not in the south bay, but in oakland there is Betts Spring, right where davis and dolittle meet.

I will think about Betts Spring, but Oakland is over an hour away, which means gas money, and if they aren't open on weekends, it would be nearly impossible for me to get there during business hours. May just be easier to order the parts from Husky online.

I called a shop the other day and it's looking to be about 120 for a roll, any one wanna split a 100' roll 3 ways?
I think 33' should be enough to do 8 leafs.

come to think of it i dont think betts has a the liners anyways, but the last time i was there they gave us a student discount, nice guys. and they arent open on weekends, i found that out the hard way.

selerep, i would be down to split a roll, but it depends on the liner, some stuff has lips on the edges, or one one edge

Doesnt look like I can make it up to Oakland during the week anytime soon, so I found that I can get u-botls at Winchester Auto and then the clamps, I am going to see if they look reusable from the leaf packs I have now. That student discount would be nice, but the gas and time lost at work kinda negates it.

Selarep, any word on if the liners have the lipped edges or not? I would like to get some if they do and would be willing to split a roll, but I am not comfortable sending you my cash in advance.

I plan on coming through Fresburg on Thursday, July 24. Maybe sooner but for sure that evening. Buy it, split it up, and I will bring my cash when I pick it up that day. Until then I'll run painted leaves sans liners.

Yea I know its a little ways away, but in my world July is right around the corner. I just was giving you the option that if you needed them now you could get them and know you'd make some of your money back in the reasonable future. If you don't have room to stash them in the garage I can understand that. Hell I just recently dug out my XJ from under all the crap where its been buried for the last several years.

Mute point if there not double lipped. What spring shop did you find them at?
