I want to lift my 2001 xj 3.5 inches, i was considering a 3.5 inch super flex from reubicon express. with add a leafs i got a price quote of 309 plus 24 for shiping, as i am a por college kid who is tryin to get through school and not have bill collectors down my back or strange men showing up to reposes my jeep i dont have much money. How hard of a ride will aal and spacer blocks give me also i have less then 22,000 miles on my jeep how long till the rear starts saggin or i get a nice s shaped bend in my leaf spring for the blocks. Or does any one know of a cheaper kit that is as complete as the rubicon express one or anyone know of a cheaper price???

Call Dirk at DPG Offroad,he will match(beat) any price and his customer service is AAAAA++++.Also you better set aside some funds for a SYE kit(chances are high that youll need one)!

DO NOT use any lift involving rear blocks if you intend to go off-road.

Period.

The failures and problems caused by blocks are too numerous to list.

Lift blocks will add undue stress to the leaf spring that would not otherwise be there without the block. And they will prematurely age the springs (shorten their life).

They commonly crack or break, usually damaging something else along with the block (usually the u-joint or whole yoke). They require extra maintenance of the u-bolts (which most people do not follow up on, hence part of the reason for common breakage).

Some trucks/vehicles are designed to have lift blocks used in the leaf springs. They typically have much stiffer spring rates.

a cherokee with a 3" lift is not a good place to use a lift block if you can avoid it.

I would not recommend it, and it is certainly avoidable.

They ussually case a premature wear of the lift pack resulting in a sag... and someone has reported at one time or another a cracked block and so on..... it's best to use a full length AAL
