They use one like that but smaller to cut the xmas trees down by my house. ^
I am now thinking of just selling it to recoup costs lost on a job we are working on. Sucks to have to contemplate selling tools, but I may need to so I can get back into positive.
Well let me know what "that guy" decides. Like I said, it is basically brand new, maybe 30 seconds of run time. I'll make a deal on it, cash, cash plus parts I need/want or whatever. Think iirc, I paid $370, but, technically, its used so..$325...? I didnt buy the box set, it just has the plastic bar gaurd. Still haven't made my mind up on selling it % 100, but, cash talks, and jeep parts whisper, so let me know.I might know a guy who might be interested.
Was at Lowes today and checked out their Husky selection. The 450 was a good looking saw. Didn't feel overly plastic like the new Stihl's.
I have an old mcculloch like that.. Great saws.. Just super heavy!

Heavy? It weighs in just under 12lbs. full of fuel. In comparison a Husqvarna 460 rancher is 12.79 dry.
Good choice. A little non-ethanol and a skip tooth and you'll chew up pretty much any tree in your way.Well I'm pretty pleased with my new acquisition.

Josh (yhateanxj?) and I worked out a deal on his virtually brand new Husky 450. It rips pretty good, 50cc with 20" bar.![]()
Those safety glasses would do yo some good not hanging on your shirt. Where did you get the chaps?Nice saw!!! Unless you become a logger that should be the last saw that you ever own.
While working up in the Burn this last summer I spent quality time with the Stihl MS250. Very quality saw and Ive been thinking about getting one myself.

This fall Ive been using my dad's old Stihl to cut down some of the tree's at our new place.
That was a nice looking little maple but it was in the way.

And this ugly beast had to go.

The saw is straight out of the 70's, has cut more wood then most saws out there, has taken a tumble out of the back of the pickup onto the road, and still fires up on the second pull.

I have two tips for you.
First... When not in use drain the gas out and run the carburetor dry.
B... When only doing small jobs/trail clean up use an old oil quart size oil bottle for your fuel. One quart of fuel is all I used for the tree's in the yard. And I did many more cuts then you would usually do when clearing a tree or two from the trail. Its easy to carry with you in the Jeep. In most situations going to be more then enough fuel for what your going to be using it for. And its a small enough amount of fuel that its easy to dispose of if you dont use it. But your saw does have a good sized motor so may want to carry a little more fuel with you at least until you know how thirsty it is.
