I had my 89 Wagoneer crossing a nice stream today so I let my somebody else drive it back across so I could see how it looked which was cool. Anybody got cool pics like up over the hood in water/mud? If not post them anyway, I just think fording is cool.

Hey look, your first post and you're looking for pics of wheelin' vehicles practicing questionable 'tread lightly' techniques. I smell a rat.

What the heck do you mean by rat?

Not a pic, but a video. I remember a Midwest guy tried to replicate it coming out of a sewer pipe or something? Anyhow:

Sure, here's some video of my previous XJ taken in January: one and two.

The fording of the Mojave River. Legal ford as part of the Mojave Road:

Point of reference: Rig is on a little under 3" lift at the time with 31's.

I don't necessarily agree. First post or three thousandth doesn't matter much to me (Not elitist!) and fording can be done lightly as well as heavy. I should hope that our membership practices good fording therefore pictures here will be "safe."

I'm getting a little tired of all the anti-newbie shit going on everywhere (and I do realize that NAXJA is much better about this than others, hence why I spend so much time here), has everybody managed to forget that we all were new once? Give it a break.

Holy crap, so how did you get it out?

Waited two-and-a-half weeks for the insurance company to finally get out there with a dual-winch tow truck and drag it out. It was totalled, so trying to get it back on dry land was a low priority for them.

That's a cool video of that old military truck completely under water, I hope not to ever go that deep.

If you do, best be preparred. The breathing is difficult under water, and the after Maint is a pain.

back when I had doors to keep the water out :laugh3: ........
