Any chance I can just run one on each leaf and be good.? any input asap would be good I want to finish in the morning.

One is good. Some people don't have any.

what xj ranger said is good, but you could end up
bending a main leaf if you are flexed-up on the trail
for a long time, as when someone is broken down
ahead of you.

The reason I clamp the front of the spring is because the front of the spring has more of a control arm function. If it wraps, you will get wheel hop. Clamping it reinforces the main leaf and also keeps the leaves from pivoting around the centering bolt.

Not clamping the rear will let the leaves expand and allow more droop.

my bastard leaf pack bent my main leaves a while ago...

its only a matter of time.... till i find myself needing some BOR leaves...

If you run none, your leafs will shimmy off to the sides and eventually become mis-aligned - unless you constantly tap them back into place. I use one heavy-duty retainer clip (that doesn't move) to keep them lined up.

I ran none on my trail rig for a year. Got tired of beating them back in place on every run.

I put one guide on the rear of the pack. It has the top spaced out an inch or so above the pack so it can still droop good.
