King of the Hammers! Who wants to go?!

If you are serious and wanna split fuel Im sure we could work something out. Driving all the way to Indiana would be a last resort obviously, but we could possibly meet you somewhere...

Man, don't tempt me Tyler! I will just have to see when we get our profit sharing check this year. Thats a lot of diesel! If I dip into the KM2 fund I could go!

Hey I got two jeeps now, you could just fly out to vegas and drive one of them out! Or you might check with McGyver for a ride, they got a whole crew coming out, might have some open seats

Ha, thanks Matthew. Is the CJ an auto? Can't drive a stick because of my knee! :D

If this comes to light you guys NEED to swing by my place before you leave. I am just an hour away up in 29 Palms. I will feed you and let you clean up and crash at my place for a day or so.

Oh, and diesel out here is $3.40-$3.50 a gallon. It starts getting pricey right on the other side of the Mississippi River. It cost me $1200 in fuel to make the trip towing my 4300 LB pop up with the Cummins.

DO IT FELLAS!!! I would like to see y'all again.

I can put my hands on a couple of goose necks but the service body on my Ford rules out a goose, it's 30ft bumper pull or one rig on my little trailer.

This = Im not interested in going... one 2 seater rig for 4 poeple isn't going to work, even Im not that skinny.

I just don't have the money to throw around for a trip with one rig. With one rig going it would be cheaper to just grab a plane ticket and fly out for a couple of days.

I could ask about the d-max... but im not sure that would go over very well.

Trying to work out a deal with a guy from Pirate. He has a 32 FT goose and a dodge dually, and he has no rig to take... he called me this evening and is wanting to go, so we are trying to work that out. Mark, are you serious about this? If so then that would be our 4 people, we might be able to squeeze in one more if anyone else would like to go.

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm serious. I'll ride in the Struggle Wagon though.... I may need some HEAT!!

I got the ok from work and the wife!!! Let's roll!

Yeah, I wish i could do this but I can't! Oh well, hopefully I will make it to moab for the fling!

ok, i just watched truck u's coverage of this years event and i want to go! probably not going to happen though. i want to get some work done on my jeep and a 1/4 share in fuel + expenses = a locker or two!

Not two... unless you can get them used, but almost! Haha.

Found out some more good news... if the guy on Pirate falls through, I do have at least one truck to drive on stand by. One is a Brand new (19,000 miles) 95 Ford Dually extended cab that was mentioned by the owner, although I am not 100% sure he was serious. Then I sorta talked to Dad about the Duramax.

Surprised no one asked me :P The RAM can pull a goose and 4 ppl in it would be easy and I just did most of this trip. Let me see if I can go...

Hell Yeah!

Dude, Latney is SOOOO THE MAN! if he can pull it off!

Bad news is that I cant seem to get ahold of the guy from pirate, so if we are wanting to go, looks like we got to figure it out on our own.

Sorry man, we would love to have you on the trip!

Just out of curiosity, what kind of mileage should we expect out of the Dodge with a big goose and 2 jeeps?

I would guess (if it is a Cummins) it will get round 12 mpg average. That is just about 10K behind the Ram.

I got 14.5 - 15.8 on the last trip with all the camping gear, I would think if we kept @ 65 - 68mph you would see 10-13 averaged out with the goose and jeeps a lot depends on keeping it under 70 and headwinds and fuel, got a bad tank of fuel and took me down to 12mpg with no load till it was outta the system.

Can you get a goose to get both jeeps on? Also it must have working brakes and a spare would be nice. My triple A can help us outta of a bind but you need to be able to call them :)

Wife says me and the truck can go BUT we don't have the money for fuel and food at this point, still out of work and I have yet to see a dime from the gubberment for unemployment. I'll work on some stuff on my side to see if I can drum up the cash.

When would we be leaving and returning?

And yes its a Cummins

Leave out on Feb 5 come home on the 12. The Last Chance Qualifiers are on the 8th, 9th. The big show on the 11th.

This won't work for me... got some possible Family stuff I have to do on the 5th, plus I have already told Mark that we would be leaving on the 7th in the early morning, arriving there on the 8th in the evening, and heading home on the 14th, arriving back home on the 15th. I figured it would be better to ride AFTER the event, that way maybe it will be less crowded? Your thoughts?

By the way, is your phone broken, Tim? I have been trying to get ahold of you for about 5 days now to discuss this. The lack of communication between parties attending is starting to push my buttons. :explosion

I can most likely get a trailer but I have to make sure I can borrow it again.
