Just finished up my XJ today take a look!!!! Before and After Pics!!

I just got my xj back today and took it for a little spin off road. I hit some crazy ruts, steep climbs and some muddy trails. It ran like a beast and didn't miss a beat. Here are some before and afters pictures. Hope yall like it.

It is a general consensus that the rear swaybar has very little to no effect on your road performance. Some XJs did not even come with them. I personally felt no difference when I took mine out.

The front swaybar is a different story, which is why you can/should install quick discos. The result offroad is a tremendous help, being able to keep tires on the ground (i.e. your 6th and 7th picture).

taking off that rear sway would it affect the new kit i just put on? i'm new to the jeep world and really dont know a whole lot about jeeps yet?thanks for the input

No it won't. It connects to the spring plates IIRC and the body. A what, 6-8 bolts and you're done. Just make sure not to knock off your crusty bumpstops when removing like I did.

Well I wouldn't want to deal with a customer if a part was missing that was not discussed. Why they didn't discuss that with you in the first place, I'll hold my tongue about large retailers.

I don't mean to flame, but you should never wheel alone....and don't get out of your rig when it is off camber. There was a guy, not too long back, that got out of his Sami and it flopped and pinned his head to the ground. He had several people with him and they were able to get him out from under it and he only suffered minor injuries, but if he was alone I'm sure it would have been much worse.

Once again, I don't want to flame---I know you just wanted to try out the new suspension, but be careful and think before you wheel.

......and the rig looks good!

Haha well I don't know about you but I take every little flex I can. In the case of your off-camber picture, your rear wheel probably would have stayed on the ground. While wheeling, without a rear locker, that can make the difference between asking for a strap or continuing on down the trail.

X2 on removing the rear swaybar. The rear bar is so small it really does not make much if any difference. I removed mine on the first lift and did not notice any increased body roll. It will allow more flex in the rear also.

The large retailer may not be allowed or want to rick anything. Removing the rear swaybar due to liability reasons could possibly open the door to a frivolous law suit.

15 minutes tops. Take off the rear wheels, undo 6-8 bolts, wiggle the bar out. Done.
