junk yard finds

Got out to the bone yard today. Scored both int. door pulls/rests, int. door handle, coolant tank, oem rear speaker bar w/ wiring and bracket and light, rear view mirror fom a cadilac w/ auto dim, temp, and compass and wiring and a shifter bezel. All for 75.00 cash. The speaker bar will be recovered just like my headliner and sunvisors. Here are a couple pics.

People may wonder about the bottle... I found a washer bottle for my 91 on my last trip, and I was really delighted since they tend to go fast (it was a new addition to the yard, and it was the only heep that had one)

Great find on the mirror, great. I've been digging in yards for years to try to find one.

What year/model Cadillac for the rear view? Do you need any other component for it to function properly?

If that mirror is like the factory day-night mirror that I installed in my 85 Deville it will be self-contained. There are three wires on the pigtail--power, ground, and "reverse". Power needs to go to ignition so that the mirror is not always active. The "reverse" wire connects to a backup indicator lead, so that when you put the car into reverse the mirror will go to it's most-exposed setting providing the most unobstructed view.

BTW there are a bunch of aftermarket mirrors that have a lot more features (compass, temp, bluetooth for phone numbers, map lights, etc). Check out the JC Whitney listings.

The mirror was from a 97 or so seville I think. For just the mirror and compass to work all you need is the 12 volt and the ground. I am also hooking up the temp part. For that you need GM #15047946 for the sensor and #12101856 for the sensor pigtail. This mirror is a "Gentex 177". If you look it up online you can see it can come from alot of differant cars/trucks.
