Jet Peformance Chip?

I had the JET Stage 2 on my Jeep for a long time but I eventually removed it when it was causing the rev limiter to cut in at only 4500rpm. After I removed it, acceleration at low/medium rpm improved and this was borne out by an increase in torque from idle to 3800rpm on the dyno. As far as I'm concerned the JET PCM is a waste of money.
The Edge Trailjammer kit is way overpriced and I think that article exaggerates the HP gain that you'd get from it. You might gain 5hp from the CAI, 3hp from the TB, and almost nothing from the programmer.

I just got a stage 2 chip on ebay 41. bux shipped to my door. I have a 90 so wouldent work. Last night we put it on my friends 96 2wd xj, did a couple passes before and after we put it on. It felt to pull harder right after 3k rpm on through. It is a manuel so it doesent affect shift points. Also the pedal is more touchy with quicker responce. He drives the same distance to work and back 30 miles a day and keeps good fuel logs, so in a while ill write back on how gas milage was changed.

So far is it worth $240.00 no would never happen.. Worth $41.00 shipped Hell ya! I would pay the 120 tops for it

Has anyone seen this http://www.performancechipsdirect.com/Jeep/Cherokee/. Performance chip stage 1. It's 59.95 and free ship. Claim is 3-6 MPG and up to 50HP. It;s adjustable with a dial. Lower HP increase gives better MPG , quess max setting gives you less.

Is that an actual chip like jet's or is it just a 10 cent transistor inside of a fancy box....methinks its a transistor.

Don't waste your money on this crap. With those claims it scores 11 out of 10 on my bullshitometer. It just looks like a variable resistor that plugs into the wires going to the IAT sensor. You'll be better off if you just buy another IAT sensor, install it in your factory airbox lid, and extend the wiring harness to reach it. The sensor will pick up cooler air in the airbox rather than the hotter air in the intake manifold and you might gain a bit of power but don't expect miracles. Here's my write-up:

I'm always suspect of those type of clams at those prices. I quess I could sell a wood block that attaches under your gas pedal as a fuel saving devise. Ported polished and hi-rise model would be double the price. I was just looking into chips and that came up. Don't think I'll be doing the chip either.

It WOOD work better then most mods to improve MPG.
The last time I saw a chip make any real difference that couldn't have been done by replacing bad stock parts or other much cheeper mods.
Was on a 85 Cavalier wagon. It had a bad stumble at WOT in very cold weather from day one. The chip made it go away.
But no one wanted to drag in -0 deg weather for some reason? :)

I still have the stage 2 for the obd2s. I didn't really try to sell it--I just wanted to take it out of the loop when I was tuning the psc1. It was advancing the timing too much b/t 2.5-3Krpm causing it to ping(good for a stock 8.8:1 SCR running premium, but not for the 10:1 stroker that already needs premium).
