Read the reviews on those Kolpin fuel cannisters.. most experience signifigant leakage from what i'v seen.

Try the Expedition One version instead......less money too. I've read several reviews of this unit and no leaking so far.

Did they ever make these CARB compliant? I would assume old stock has been depleted and older versions not very plentiful?

Now that i think about it, i seem to remember a group buy on these over at MUD.

wow those are pretty cool- i could strap a few too my stock underside of my stock roof rack and not have any problems... if they leak it would suck though...

ExpeditionOne rep said that they are expecting an exemption to the CARB regulation to come in the next 2 weeks, so they can resume sales on their popular Geri containers. They did have to modify their design to beef it up to pass "permeability" requirements....whatever that means.
They can sell the water cans (white or black) but not the fuel (red-gas yellow-diesel) cans in the US. They have continued to sell internationally, where CARB regs do not apply.

Sounds like their awaiting approval on the product material itself.

What the hell does that have to do with the rest of the country???

Are they making national law now? That state really needs to have a day of violent earthquakes, mudslides, volcanoes and then just fall into the ocean.

Many states adopt CARBs rules a few years later, keep your eyes here to see the future there.

CARB is a beauraeucratic mess and could be really streamlined. I'm okay with emissions tests and stuff (I remember what the Los Angeles Basin was line in the 80s) but they need to realize that what I do to the vehicle shouldn't matter, only results should. (ie, let me swap a 1970 Cadillac 500 into my Jeep as long as I meet or exceed the smog values my 1989 Jeep Cherokee is listed for)

Also CARB compliant fuel cans blow, I've thrown all of mine away. I thought ahead and got six NATO cans for fuel storage needs.

Next fall fling I am going to bring a dozen or so California Illegal nato cans and sell them at highly inflated prices.
