Spent the day at the Jeep Rocks and Road Tour in Charlotte. It's an event put on by Jeep and gives you a chance to drive any of their new Jeep vehicles on an "offroad course". They also have a course for owners that you can play around on. In all honesty, it kind of surprised me how the courses were...they were actually pretty cool (considering it's geared towards people who have no experience and stock rigs).

Met up with Mike (frothyworld102). We wound up getting there around the same time but didn't meet up with each other until later on in the morning. The owners course had a pretty nice mud hole at the end that unfortunately was a show stopper for Mike. Sadly he had to have his Jeep towed back to the house to work on it as we couldn't get it running again there (bad misfires on 1, 3 & 5, zero power, flashing check engine light). We suspected a cap and rotor were in order and in the end thats what it was. The pictures below will show why :D

The new Grand Cherokee (AWESOME vehicle!):

All in all a great time for an event I wasn't sure was going to be good. Great meeting you today Mike and i'm glad you got your Jeep running again. I see a lift in your very near future lol.

He did finally show up! Thanks for the help (and the pics)! It was a good time even though my HEEP got towed outa there. Had it fixed in about 10 minutes at least and my alternator believe it or not is good to go!! Definitely gotta do something like a skid plate up there to help out, although, I WON'T be going in any mud anytime soon! lol

So how did the oh-leven do Tim? Also I bet you were happy to have some actual grip this go around! :D

Yeah man anytime. Pretty much the point of this organization is to have fun and help when there's need. Let me know if you have any questions when you go to getting your lift and what not.

Not sure what you're work schedule is like but i'll give you a shout next time we (the group of us in Charlotte I talked about) go out for a couple of brews or somethin.

I'm sold on these tires. I almost got a newer model Chevy Impala stuck to my grille earlier this week...stomped on the brakes and cut the wheel and the tires didn't bark one bit...the Jeep went due left just like I wanted lol. Then today being the first time in about 2-3 years i've actually played in real mud (swore i'd never do it again after eating it every time I got under the Jeep to work on it...so much for that!) I was amazed at the traction.

Need to get back to Uwharrie ASAP and hit up a few rocks to see how they do.

Oh and the 2011 Grand did awesome. It's got a killer down hill assist feature on it....don't even have to touch the brakes when you're facing straight down. I'd still prefer to wheel my XJ where it's driver skill that determines how much wheelin you can do, but I'd rock the hell out of one of those for a DD.

I thought you would like them. I've always ran MT's since its Indiana and we have plenty of Mud. PLAYING IN MUD SUCKS!!!!!!! I don't go through it unless I have to. I would run AT's if i lived in Moab......:D I am really liking the new grands for sure. I would rock the hell out of one too!
